Choose whether to display Speed Dials with or without titles.

Speed Dials in Vivaldi allow you to quickly access your favorite websites from the Start Page. On desktop you can customize Speed Dials to display the title or not, or only show it when you hover over the Speed Dial.

To pick your preferred Speed Dial look:

1. Go to Settings > Start Page > Speed Dial > Speed Dial Appearance.
2. Choose between:
   • Show Title
   • Show Title on Hover
   • Hide Title

After jumping around FOSS/-ish search providers for a while, and most recently encountering issues with Qwant and Startpage because I started using a VPN, I stumbled upon Uruky (https://uruky.com/) and decided to give it a try as the first time a payed for a search engine!

I've been having a **great** time for now!

@werawelt Escosia ist auch ganz okay für die Suche. Meistnes gibt es Suchergebnisse. #Startpage will manchmal von mir, dass ich mich ans Nichtmensch verifiziere. Generell fände ich aber wichtiger CO2 zu vermeiden und nicht mit Kompensation.

I've started using #vivaldi for my #google replacement. Have to say I'm impressed with its ability to handle all the plugins (like #paperpile, which doesn't work in google docs on firefox. (I still prefer the #noscript extension on #firefox for most situations.) But what's really impressed me is StartPage, which is the default search that vivaldi is doing.

Ik zit nog in het proces van zo veel mogelijk los laten van #Bigtech , maar ben gelijk maar begonnen met het volgende proces: digitale soevereiniteit. Ik was al bezig door mijn overstap een paar jaar terug naar Proton, Mullvad, en Vivaldi. Nu begonnen met #DeltaChat (ipv Signal) en #Startpage en #Ecosia (ipv DuckDuckGo).

@bms48 Startpage, formerly IxQuick, is as far as I know, still a Dutch search engine, with focus on privacy. Maybe the default in Vivaldy?

#Startpage seems pretty great for a free, ad-driven search engine. This may be the closest thing to Old Google out there.

They are still developing AI stuff though, but it seems to be optional.

I wanted to know which type the grounded yellow plane from the #intro video of #fs2024 is.

As I could not find otherwise for some time I asked #DuckDuckGo AI (a,b,c) and #Startpage Assist (d). Not only did the Artificial Idiot come up with different airplanes every single time - all four answers are wrong.

a) Piper J-3 Cub - nope
b) De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver -nope
c) Boeing Stearman Model 75 - nope
d) Gee Bee Model Z - nope

In fact it is a #Cubcrafter X Cub (by Asobo). Found out myself yesterday in the sim as I did not choose a #Zlin or the #Wilga as usual for a bush or outdoor flight.*

And it is a fantastic aircraft BTW, albeit not so easy to land - like all taildraggers. 🛩️

* Ceterum censeo: I want the old hangar from #fs2020 back.
