The Latest update to Windows 11 is trying to force people off the legacy media player by REMOVING Lyrics, Captions and even subtitles. Trying to toggle them on shows an error pointing to the new app. VLC still beats the new app by leaps & bounds.

IMO one more reason to switch to Linux.

WHy is it that with *Every* iOS update on my iPad I have issues, unresolved until a minor update (bug fix) is issued?

Why is it that I’m getting the feeling that I’m going to be **Forced** to update my iPad with the next iOS update because it is already complaining about lack of space which I guess is the precussor to the all too familiar: ‘ your iPad is no longer compatible with the new OS update — been there before and I’m damned if I’m going to buy another device with built-in redundency.

Windows 10 users, will no longer receive new features/updates from Office 365, or OneDrive. So to reiterate, because you aren't "upgrading" (and I use the term very loosely here) You will be cut off from features, of OTHER products, that you've paid for.

In quite an aggressive bit of annoyance of my (fully functional) @Kobo Elipsa mostly collecting dust due to the #enshitification of the Kobo Firmware (requiring users to be logged in; working around that might put your data at risk of getting wiped at the next firmware update) ...

I took the plunge today and ordered a @pine64eu PineNote. At least that is a device which is properly hackable. Yes, I'm fully aware that the user experience will not be like a fully finished product. But that's perfectly fine - simply because it is hackable.

The hardware is great, it's the firmware which is really annoying me and I don't have the patience to hack on a completely new firmware for it.

@der_tom @murena Yeah, I cannot express just how disappointed I am with Murena. Not only did the wifi stop working, but backup tool (seedvault) was removed so that now you only have the option to use their cloud service. Ridiculous. #enshitification

Here is #IssamHijazi of #UpScrolled speaking about his experiences with people attacking his app.

He also talks about improvements to UpScrolled but nothing being said makes me particularly excited about the app. It just sounds like another version of all the same old platforms, just this time it's owned by a Palestinian and not the usual Western-aligned capitalists.

I still think the app is worth being on, but when they talk about 'growth' and introducing #ads it just sounds like it will succumb to #enshitification eventually. There's a mention of #Mastodon but Mastodon just isn't news-pushing and corporate enough for some people on the left.
