  2. :firefox: We have the year 2026 and after all this time it is still a royal pain in the ass to export and import #Firefox bookmarks on #Android. 😩 And third-party solution such as #Floccus are still not available for Android.

Any other suggestions or workarounds (other than a Firefox account)? :thinking_rotate:

  4. the Query: "what is google.com/interests/saved/list ?"
    [the artificial explains]

    So, take away the Google-services, and it's del.icio.us ?
    [the artificial concedes]

interesting. so the idea is to promote users into customers?
    [the artificial bullshits me]

sure. i get it. no one is a moron here. one here is not human, in fact.

    [the artificial dismissing sass]

    **Promoting users into customers**
the process of converting individuals who engage with a product or service, often for free or with minimal commitment, into paying, loyal customers through engagement, education, and strategic promotion.

    **Understanding Customer Activation**
The concept is closely tied to customer activation, which involves taking users from initial engagement to becoming active, paying customers

  5. Got my prints delivered this week along with the bookmarks that my Kickstarter backers are going to get soon! Books will be shipped out before the end of the month... EXCITING! #prints #bookmarks #creatureart #folklore #fantasyart

  6. I've started using #Wallabag as my replacement for Pocket, with a self-hosted backend. So far so good! It's been able to handle all the articles I've thrown at it thus far, and the setup was pretty easy, though I did have to go rooting around a bit for a sample docker-compose.yml

    apps.apple.com/us/app/karakeep

  13. Released version 0.2 of the Linkding sync extension: addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firef

This version introduces an improved syncing algorithm that greatly reduces the load of the extension on the browser and adds a setting to choose the Bookmark folder where the Linkding bookmarks should go (for example the Bookmarks Toolbar)

  14. 🎉 Surprise unlocked: Linkding now syncs with Firefox!

  16. Finally made that tool I've been planning for a while: A configurable batch deleter of #Mastodon #bookmarks, supporting a threshold date (i.e. only older bookmarks considered) and lists of accounts and hashtags to always keep.

    gist.github.com/postspectacula

After editing the script to fill in your own details and preferences at the top, you can run it via command line `node delete-bookmarks.js` or paste it in the browser console to execute.

The script outputs details of each bookmark being removed, supports retrying with exponential back-off (5x) and is configured to use quite generous pauses between requests to not trigger rate limiting.

The script also prints out `max_id` values, used for pagination purposes by the Mastodon API. Should you interrupt the script to make some changes and then re-run, you can also find the latest `max_id` and set `MAX_ID` to that value in the script to save time (bookmarks are processed in batches of 40)

(FWIW I've been ferociously bookmarking posts for almost 3 years (had ~13500) and my media storage became over 100GB. So it's urgent time for some serious pruning...)

  18. What do you use to save and organize bookmarks and other internet finds? It doesn’t necessarily have to be the same tool for articles/read it later and other types of links, I’m interested in both.

I would really like something that saves pages/articles offline, so that I can still read it even if the original link may no longer exist. A good integration in iOS would also be great, and preferably without AI (or possible to switch off) and FOSS and so on.

For articles I have used Pocket, Readwise Reader (good but too expensive), omnivore (was bought) in the past and am currently searching for an alternative.

For other links I’ve used the bookmark function in the browser (impractical for me and not offline), MyMind (good but too expensive and too much AI), and currently I’m trying Obsidian. Unfortunately, the Web Clipper on iOS does not work the way I would like and the use is quite cumbersome (if anyone can point me to tutorials or has advice I’d be happy to hear it)
