Created some tests for web components that retrieve a required design token value and check if the rendered elements have the equivalent computed value. For example, if the element is showing the correct values for a focus ring.

I’ve been playing with Utopia Core. Basically, the thing that makes the online tool Utopia Fluid Type Scale Calculator do what it does.
I can now use Utopia directly in my projects using Design Tokens and Style Dictionary! -
As a designer/developer, design tokens make perfect sense to me. Much in the same way as variables or functions in code. Shared values reduce repetition and foster consistency.
As an information architect, I’m finding lots of flaws in how they’re created. Poor taxonomies kill the concept.
Nate Baldwin published a well-crafted piece on design tokens that everyone using them should read.

- generate a list of utility classes (as shown).
- help generate documentation.
- Sass variables.
- CSS Custom Properties.
- Integrate with Tokens Studio.
- a VSCode autocomplete plugin.
