Everyone's cheering users for rejecting AI search by switching to DuckDuckGo. Ask AI is right on the search bar on the homepage, the DDG app Has AI in its official name. There is a no-AI option--on a subdomain most may never find. They didn't reject AI. They rejected Google and no choice. That's a real and meaningful distinction — it's just not the one being celebrated.

I silently switched to DuckDuckGo a few of years ago. There are others also one of them is Kagi search.

Instead of telling you how all my experiences are I will just leave the beautiful links so you can surf, check, and see if they suit you. Translation currency conversion and everything else that I used on Google, I can easily do on DuckDuckGo where I have the most experience.

Quick two-in-one tip for #kagi users:

1. You can manually add domains to your ranking settings via the "bulk add" (one per line)
2. Ranking understands TLDs

If you had e.g. a strong opinion on content from #Anguilla, you would enter "ai" and configure your preference accordingly!

@gisiger Ich habe noch keine Erfahrung mit #Kagi und habe mich noch nicht damit beschäftigt.

#GoogleSearch API ist in dem Fall um Welten besser als #Google #Search direkt, da aktuell (noch?) das Abklammern der Benutzer:innen von den Webseiten in dieser Form nicht in der gleichen Art und Weise stattfindet.

Wenn DDG/startpage mit eigener KI die #enshittification weitertreiben, dann fallen diese Optionen für mich ebenfalls flach, keine Frage.

Ich habe auch keinen Vergleich der "Leistung" (Suchergebnisse) gemacht, da ich die Alternativen auch bei schlechterer Qualität bevorzuge, da mein persönliches Anforderungsprofil die "Zerstörung vom WWW" höher priorisiert als ab und zu mal einen Link nicht zu finden. Subjektiv habe ich seit den Nullerjahren, wo ich #Google Adieu gesagt habe, keine Nachteile entdeckt.

我 24 年春节的时候去过塞尔维亚，在贝尔格莱德待过几天。于是翻阅相册的地图定位，果然当时路过了那片区域，甚至还在旁边拍过视频。

当时 ZARA 店门口（从地图上就在 Kagi Hub 右边）有一个乐队在街头表演，录了一段视频。

不过 Kagi Hub 是 25 年底才开的，和我 24 年初的旅程大概是没啥交集的。

Wprawdzie od dawna nie używam wyszukiwarki google'a (z wyjątkiem jakichś bardzo specyficznych sytuacji, kiedy muszę coś porównać) i bazuję przede wszystkim na zestawie Qwant i (czasem, jak się Qwant wywali) Startpage, natomiast kolejna googloinba przypomniała mi o istnieniu #Kagi, które kiedyś sobie testowałem w planie free. Zainstalowałem na telefonie, zamierzam sobie dalej potestować, natomiast pytania do osób, które używają planów paid trochę dłużej i w trybie codziennym (tzw. praktyków):
- czy ten za piątaka wystarcza Wam do sensownego korzystania z wyszukiwarki?
- jak oceniacie jakość wyników i komfort korzystania?
- tryb AI, potrzebny mi jak świni w kożuchu siodło do karety - ale skoro jest - jak działa w porównaniu np. z Perplexity?
