Je suis très sensible à la préservation des forêts donc j'adore le concept de Ecosia mais là je suis pas certain que cette feature soit une bonne idée en plus de ne pas être en adéquation avec la cause qu'ils défendent - je dis ça après avoir entendu le son du diable que produit un #datacenter
Certes c'est qu'un détail mais bon... Ce détail c'est comme le verbe croiver, c'est insupportable ><.

I decided to try out Ecosia for search today, having been a long-time DuckDuckGo user.
Some observations:
1. For some bizarre reason there's no way to access your user profile on the main page, only on search results. No, not even if you create an account and login.
2. So once I'd found that... the searches are backed by Google and/or Bing. Thus I selected Bing to match my DDG experience.
3. They default to some form of AI enhancement, but at least you can toggle that off, just like with DDG.
We'll see how this goes...

Out of curiosity, I tried to find the option to turn off @ecosia 's AI features.
The first thing I pressed (paperclip at the bottom left of the search field) brought up this dialog.

Ah ! #Ecosia permet maintenant de désactiver complètement l'usage d'#IA sur son moteur de recherche !
Et, avec ou sans IA, ils continueront à planter des arbres !C'est con que toute l'eau nécessaire pour les arbres soit utilisée pour refroidir les data-center dédiés à l'IA qu'Ecosia a choisi de mettre en place et d'activer par défaut.

It turns out @ecosia are using Cloudfare and Cloudflare hates my VPN and makes me do CAPTCHA with every search term.
Gotta find a new default search engine now.

Oh. #Youtube zeigt wieder mehr Popo, mehr Mumu (vulgo #cameltoe) und mehr Boobies. Die waren nie ganz weg aber der ´#Algo hat sie nur bei entsprechenden Suchwörtern gebracht.
Hat man da Angst eventuell Marktanteile zu verlieren? Weil die Welt langsam genug hat, von #Trump und den #oligarchInnen ?
