Yesterday, #Spectrum decided to have another hours-long email outage on a Saturday afternoon.
It started at around 1:29pm US Eastern time and lasted until around 11:13pm, nearly ten hours.
I know about the exact timing because of the script I run every minute against my uncle's email account to clean spam and scams (Spectrum's spam filter sucks).
My uncle pays nearly $300 per month for cable and internet. For that much you'd think they'd be able to keep his email up.

Someone please explain to my why the search box at the top of the page in _Confluence_ is inviting me to search _SharePoint_.

This is what happens in the #1Password web app when I click the "Manage access" button while viewing the contents of a vault. Specifically, it pops up an incompletely rendered modal which is supposed to be the access management modal, and it stays there, incompletely rendered, forever. Sweet.

You get an email from #Microsoft365 with the subject "Microsoft 365 security: You have messages in quarantine". Below one of the listed quarantined emails listed there's a button: "Block Sender".
You click the button. It brings up a page. You click the button on the page to confirm blocking the sender. It confirms that the sender was blocked.
A day later, you get another quarantine email from #M365 listing another message from the same sender. (1/2)

I'm using #MicrosoftPlanner at work to organize my team's work, because the team is small enough and its organizational strategy informal enough that it is (or should be) sufficient, and because we get the basic version for free as part of our company #Microsoft365 subscription.
#Planner has always been kind of a dumpster fire, but they've recently taken it to a new level.

The #1Password app on #Linux has a configuration setting you can enable to tell it to start on login, and it works… sometimes. And sometimes it doesn't, and you have to launch the app by hand after you log in.
(I'm running into this issue on GNOME on Debian Testing.)

Over six months ago I got a cortisone injection in my hip. It caused my blood pressure to dramatically increase for several days. I spoke with my PCP about it and she prescribed a blood pressure medication for me to take prophylactically before the next injection. I never got another injection, so I've never filled that prescription or taken the medication.

I just discovered that a firmware upgrade with security patches for one of my home's WiFi routers was released by #Netgear in September 2025, but the router itself has continued to claim since then that no upgrade was available every month when I went to the firmware upgrade page on the router and told it to check.

Except they sent it to an email address that does not have a Target account associated with it. I confirmed this by entering the address on the login screen; when I did that, it offered to create a new account under that address.

When #Microsoft365 sends me an email telling me I have messages in quarantine, and I click on the button in the email to block the sender of one of the messages, it takes _22 seconds_ for the web page with the block button to load.
The first 8 seconds is #Checkpoint deciding it's safe to redirect through to #Microsoft.
Then #M365 takes 14 seconds to load the page.
This is what Checkpoint and Microsoft consider acceptable performance. 🤦

I receive marketing #spam from Thrift Savings Plan, a.k.a. #TSP, the 401k-like thing that federal government employees participate in.
I've never been particularly interested in TSP spam, but I tolerated it while I was a participant. However, DOGE fired me a year ago and I'm no longer a federal employee, and I recently finally got around to closing my TSP account and rolling over its contents into an IRA, so now I really want to unsubscribe. The 2nd #Fidelity rep I spoke with also failed to deliver.
I had a 3rd convo with them. 2 days later I got email with the info I needed.
Ironically, the info they sent was a screen capture from their website.
It turns out I could have gotten what I needed from their shitty website all along. On the page I had found on the site, the info was wrong, but there was a different page where it was correct.
Any of the 3 reps I spoke with could have told me that. None of them did.

Either #AARP recently had a security incident and therefore reset everybody's passwords without admitting it, or they periodically reset people's passwords without telling them, or they're just incompetent, because I just had to reset my password, which is stored in a password manager, so I know I was typing it correctly, but the site wouldn't accept it. #infosec (1/4)

I get this email today from Thrift Savings Plan (the 401k equivalent for federal employees).
It says I should "click on the red circle icon in the upper right-hand corner of [my] home screen," but there is no red circle icon in the upper right corner when I log in. It's yellow.
The "tsp.gov" link in the footer isn't clickable because they've written '<a href="tsp.gov">' instead of '<a href="https ://tsp.gov">' in the HTML source for the email.
Sheer incompetence.

Last year I rolled over my uncle's #Fidelity managed 401k into an IRA. When I did the rollover distribution from Fidelity, it didn't tell me that any of the money in the distribution was post-tax. Afterward, the transactions that showed up in the transaction history also claimed that all of the money was pre-tax. I therefore rolled over all of the money into a traditional (non-Roth) IRA. I ordered two remanufactured toner cartridges for my #HP #printer. These are Staples-branded cartridges and the #Staples website claims they're compatible.
Today I tried to use them and the printer rejected them: bad chip.
It's bullshit that HP is still pulling this cartridge lock crap.
It's bullshit that Staples lied about the compatibility.
It's bullshit that because of these my printer is out of toner and the earliest I can get replacement cartridges is in three days.

This is what I see when I try to log into #GrubHub on my phone.
It tells me to "confirm that [I'm] not a robot" but offers me no instructions or guidance for how to do that.
I am able to log into the GrubHub website with the same username and password with no problem whatsoever.
I chatted with GrubHub support about this through the website and the only solution they offered was for me to use the website instead of my phone. That's bullshit and I told him so.

It's been more than a year since #Debian #Linux deprecated the insecure #SHA1 hash algorithm in #APT repositories.
The #Keybase, #Slack, and #Dropbox repositories (I'm sure among others) are still using SHA1, and therefore for over a year they have not worked in Debian without changing the default APT policies to allow them.
I know Slack knows about this, because I told them. A year ago.
Why haven't they upgraded the security on their repository?
Seriously, wtf?
