OK, so, I just spent 50 minutes on the phone with #Kroll, the settlement administrator for the #Naviance #classAction lawsuit.
To recap, my wife received two emails from Kroll containing student class member IDs, and I received two emails from Kroll containing parent class member IDs, and I was supposed to be able to use the student class member IDs to file a claim, but neither of them would work on the website.

The current version of #Microsoft #Outlook for #macOS has no working features for responding inline to a message when replying to it.
Previous versions of Outlook, though perhaps never on macOS, had this: support.microsoft.com/en-us/of
The current version has "Indent each line of the original message," which you could kind of use for this purpose by unindenting your comments, but… it doesn't work.

For the 2nd time in 2 weeks Mozilla's Bugzilla is rate-limiting me (429 error) when all I did was view a bug and then try to log in so I could post a comment on the bug.
The comment I was trying to post was a response to someone asking me if I was still able to reproduce an issue I reported quite a while back.
So I took the time to check, and indeed the issue seems to have been resolved, but I can't report that because bugzilla is f*cked.
I wish #Mozilla would fix its shit.

  12. A government agency I'm dealing with on my uncle's behalf asks me to send them a handful of sensitive documents.
They apparently expect me to just send them via email. I'm not going to do that.
First sharing attempt: put them on my Synology NAS, send them a sharing link. ❌ Their network won't let them access my NAS.

I gotta admit this one is pretty hilarious. The new FSA website that my wife's FSA administrator has switched to using, called "#Elevate", shows this on its reimbursement methods page.
"Oh, of course, the bank account whose number ends in ****! I know exactly which one that is!" 🤦

I go grocery shopping this morning. At checkout I attempt to pay for my groceries using an #ElanFinancialServices card stored in #GoogleWallet. The charge is declined. I try again using the physical card. It works.
Elan sends me email notifying me the charge was declined. "If you'd like to view this transaction, log in to your account." I log in; the transaction is not visible.
I call Elan. They are unable to tell me why the charge was declined.
    😡

  18. Also, when I was chatting with #Healthfirst about this to get them to file a ticket with their IT people, they asked for my uncle's member number, and when I pasted it into the chat it was incorrectly interpreted as a social security number and masked. They then told me I had to put dashes between all the digits to prevent that from happening so they could see it.
This is just so stupid on so many levels.
    #TechIsShitDispatch

  19. #TechIsShitDispatch
I've posted before about how it was impossible for many months for me to access claim information for my uncle on the #Healthfirst website because the backend was timing out requests. That was eventually fixed, after I complained for months.
But now the "plan communications" page is broken in the same way, because of course it is.
    Fucking idiots.
    #healthInsurance #healthcare

  20. Also worth noting: when I click on the link in the email from #Healthfirst notifying me about the new denial letter, it takes me directly to the letter. However, when I go to the "Plan communications" section of the Healthfirst website, where the letter should be listed as the newest plan communication available to view and download, it's not listed there. Because the people who built and maintain Healthfirst's website are incompetent idiots.

Yesterday, #Spectrum decided to have another hours-long email outage on a Saturday afternoon.
It started at around 1:29pm US Eastern time and lasted until around 11:13pm, nearly ten hours.
I know about the exact timing because of the script I run every minute against my uncle's email account to clean spam and scams (Spectrum's spam filter sucks).
My uncle pays nearly $300 per month for cable and internet. For that much you'd think they'd be able to keep his email up.

I ordered an electronic restaurant gift card. The order went through #Square, and they supposedly sent it to the recipient's email address.
She claims she never got it, but she's old and tech-challenged so 🤷.
Square did not send me a copy of the card, so I can't resend it to her. They sent me a receipt, but there are no instructions in it for what to do if the card wasn't received.
This is not an accident. If the card is lost the restaurant gets to keep the money!

The company my wife's job uses to administer her Medical FSA switched mid-year to a different sub-administrator to run their website and the mechanics of reimbursing expenses.
During the transition we were not able to submit expenses for reimbursement.
After the transition I submitted four expenses from during the transition, which were promptly rejected as "past the due date to submit" because the company is full of incompetent fuckwits.
    THEY HAD ONE JOB.

#Google continues the trend of adding new #Gemini-related #privacy-invasive bullshit to their phones at every opportunity.
Their newest "innovation" is that I can no longer send a a text by voice unless I agree to connect Gemini to Google Home. I don't have any smart home devices, and if I did I wouldn't want Google connected to them, and yet still, I must agree to this to be able to send a text by voice, something that has nothing to do with smart home devices. I receive via email an invitation to an event. I attempt to accept the invitation and import it into my #Google calendar in #Thunderbird. I get two error pop-ups, one on top of the other:
    #Mozilla #GNOME #GNOMECalendar #Bugzilla #GoogleCalendar (1/5)

  39. This is what happens in the #1Password web app when I click the "Manage access" button while viewing the contents of a vault. Specifically, it pops up an incompletely rendered modal which is supposed to be the access management modal, and it stays there, incompletely rendered, forever. Sweet.

For the record, the reason why this page was not working for me is because I had ad blocking turned on for it, which is the default in Vivaldi, my browser.
That's right, a page #Google created whose explicit purpose is to give users more control over their privacy doesn't load if you visit the page with an ad blocker.
    🤔

You get an email from #Microsoft365 with the subject "Microsoft 365 security: You have messages in quarantine". Below one of the listed quarantined emails listed there's a button: "Block Sender".
You click the button. It brings up a page. You click the button on the page to confirm blocking the sender. It confirms that the sender was blocked.
A day later, you get another quarantine email from #M365 listing another message from the same sender. (1/2)

Nowadays I resort to using Microsoft Copilot web chat as a glorified search engine when I can't find the answer to a question using a real search engine, both because all of the search engines suck (some of them on purpose to make you view more ads) and because the search engines are polluted with slop.
