  1. The season is ending. There are always a lot of Jamaican workers here for the summer. They stock up on things and before they leave they pack barrels and then the big trucks come take their barrels to Florida and then buses will come in a couple of days and pick up the workers and take them to Florida for their trip home. #endofsummer #hellofall

  2. Autumn is approaching and somehow I am not ready for this yet. I love the colors, the calm atmosphere, the cold mornings, the fog and the berries.

Oh but summer was so sweet - I don't want it to end yet.

Heading south for a few days to enjoy the warm sun and to make that summer feeling last a bit longer 😉

  3. I needed some fall colors to help me avoid the fact that it's at least 300 degrees outside in the Chicago area today. These are the kinds of photographs that you might get in Sunshine Club. Do you even Sunshine Club? It's what people do that are looking for a little brightness in their lives. It's a whole thing and really the only way to see it is to join today. And yes a join counts for Art-O-Thon, so there's that.

  4. 10 At The End – August 2026

    Gratitude, Happenings, Observations …

    1. After a crazy June and busy July, August brought slower days and sweet joys, including celebrating my pregnant daughter at her baby shower.

    2. Sunsets on the water.

    3. A wonderful, relaxing getaway with my beloved friend. Spending time together was a treasure, especially since we now live in different states. I’m thankful for friendship.

    4. Pesticide-free, fresh cucumbers from my lovely neighbor’s garden.

    5. Desserts turned out adorable and delicious for my daughter’s baby shower.

    6. My 29-yr old daughter came into town to celebrate her sister. What fun to have both of my girls together for several days!

    7. August reads – stay tuned…more details on these later this week.

    8. A walk through Sarah P. Duke Gardens at Duke University – more photos on Wednesday.

    9. August heat in Texas is comparable to January cold in New York. I was mostly stuck indoors.

    10. But thankfully, there were pleasant beach walks in coastal Carolina during our quick girls-getaway…

Tomorrow we welcome the start of the “ber” months. September, October, November and December are always special. Each brings at least one holiday and for much of America, a coziness that accompanies beautiful seasonal changes. I hope you enjoy each one of them🍂.

Thank you for reading and have a blessed Monday!

  5. Hope you enjoyed your weekend.

I chilled for the day (Sunday). Did a couple useful domestic things.

Looks like we're in for a week of rain. Not the remnants of a hurricane (that would be typical this time of year), but a system coming down from Canada. You sneaky bastards! 🇨🇦 🤣

Just wait until our Fearless Leader whips out his giant Sharpie! Then you'll see! 🎃 🤡

    🤣 🤣 🤣

  6. Good afternoon.

We originally had rain forecast all day, but it's been a nice, sunny morning. Now we have heavy thunderstorms slated for later this afternoon. ⛈️

Thursdays are normally my errand day (groceries, etc.), but I'm postponing that 'til tomorrow — better weather. Another chance to enjoy Baby Blue while the sun shines! 🌞

Hope you're having fun — wherever you are, and whatever you're doing! 🙂

  7. The monarch butterfly or simply monarch (Danaus plexippus) is a milkweed butterfly . Other common names, depending on region,  common tiger, wanderer, and black-veined brown. It is among the most familiar of North American butterflies, and an iconic pollinator, although it is not an especially effective pollinator of milkweeds. Its wings feature an easily recognizable black, orange, and white pattern, with a wingspan of 8.9–10.2 cm (3.5–4.0 in).
