  8. An Apefly (Spalgis epius) spotted in Punggol, Singapore on 25 Oct 2025. A small, rare butterfly whose caterpillar feeds on mealybugs. It gets it name for the supposed resemblance of its pupa to the face of an ape.

There is beauty all around. But we usually don't notice it. . Life gets busy, our minds get distracted, and sometimes we become so focused on our problems that we stop seeing the good around us. Look again today. God has filled His creation—and your life—with beautiful things to enjoy. You just gotta look. 💎 ✨Click to read the full devotional

  13. Before the Hush

    An orange sulphur sun
    sinks low into the horizon
    Its rays catching
    golden bird wings
    In its glow
    The speckled wood shadows
    of elongated Sandhill Cranes
    stretch awkwardly across the field
    of uneven ground
    Monarchs dance with dragonflies
in the air above tall grasses
as the sounds of the day
    begin to hush

Merril is hosting Tuesday Poetics at D’Verse Poets and has provided us with a list of butterfly names to use as prompts for our poem. She asks us to use three or more.

    I chose Golden Birdwings/Speckled Wood/Monarchs

  14. Falls ihr euch fragt, wo in diesem Jahr die ganzen Schmetterlinge sind. Die sitzen alle hier in Österreich in diesem Pflaumenbaum 😉. Ich habe 32 Admirale gezählt.
If you are wondering where all the butterflies are this year. They are all sitting in this plum tree here in Austria 😉. I have counted 32 so far.
