Another welcome garden visitor; one that was quite approachable and not at all camera shy :-)

This is (I think), a male Migrant Hawker dragonfly. It sat for hours on a sunny, clematis vine, occasionally taking a short flight before resettling.

He differs from the Southern Hawker in having very feint antehumeral stripes, and lacking solid, coloured bands on S9 & S10.

Despite its name, these breed in Southern Britain.
