  1. I found a dude trapped in a palm tree. He seemed pretty happy about it. 📸 mine #photography #plants #pareidolia #tropicalplants

  2. Your bi-yearly tip on #anthurium care. If you want to extend the red colour - snip off the yellow spadix, once the flower(looks like a leaf) turns fully red. That extends the red for much longer.
This particular plant(we have several of these) was gifted to my Mom from a former Filipino coworker. Mom loves this particular anthurium because it's the biggest & healthiest out of all the ones we have. It's a good indoor air filtration plant.
    *Keep pets away from it.*

  3. 3rd time this #pink #orchid has bloomed, this year. I usually only get 2 blooms from it, annually. Not sure why it's going on third bloom but I'm definitely not complaining about it.
Lovely to have some pretty flowers to admire, as we near December.

  4. Pigeon peas are the most prolific legume we grow and they require no water or fertilization—even in our sandy soils. It’s one of the few things we grow that provides actual sustenance for us. We get so many peas that we can dry them, jar them and eat them for months. In Spanish speaking countries some call them grandules. These are also the peas that go in Jamaican rice & peas. #PerennialGardening #Zone10 #Florida #TropicalPlants #MiracleFoods @gardening

  5. Double infusion today. @deadnettlez inspired me to start a roselle oil infusion. I didn’t even realize this was a thing. The plant’s antioxidant properties make it great for hair and skin, apparently. I mean, I think I care more about the fact that it makes the oil #pink than anything else. I’m using coconut oil as my carrier. On the right, another batch of sun tea. #roselle #zone10 #TropicalPlants #HerbalRemedies #plants

  11. 48. Forty-eighth of many posts of floral beauty to distract us from the firehose of lies and evil. Flowering Clivia plant shot with a 35mm prime lens at f/1.8, 1/125 sec. Like the effect of a very narrow depth of field on this one. #photography #TropicalPlants #Flowers #Bloomscrolling #Clivia

  12. My #AnthuriumAndraeanum aka Painter's Palette tropical #Houseplant is blooming again. This is the largest flower on it.

Toxic to all mammals if ingested. Don't keep this plant in reach of kids or any animals who have exhibited even the slightest bit of plant nibbling curiosity.
We keep it on our front windowsill here. Asher, my cat, has absolutely zero interest in nibbling any plants - otherwise, I'd place this plant in a different, spot.

  13. Time for some blossoms! I don’t know the names of all of these, but here are some tropical plants in their beautiful glory for your enjoyment! #bloomscrolling, #tropicalplants, #mexicanplants, #hibiscus, #orchid, #peacelily, #maybecrabclaw? #lobsterclaw?

  14. All four of our Devil's Tongue babies are growing. I am very excited. 😊

    I love these odd plants.
They're all foliage in the summer but, in the early spring, they produce a single giant dark red flower that smells like death. (It's related to the corpse flower.)

With our luck, they'll all flower next January and stink up the house. 😄
