The maple leaves outside are turning over in a good breeze: the rain will not be far behind. 🌧️
Summers at Ely Lake, we'd be scrambling to retrieve the lawn chairs, and pull the laundry off the clothesline. Then the rain would come in over the wooded hill across the lake. We'd sit on our large front porch, and watch the sheet of rain come at us across the lake. 🙂

We originally had rain forecast all day, but it's been a nice, sunny morning. Now we have heavy thunderstorms slated for later this afternoon. ⛈️
Thursdays are normally my errand day (groceries, etc.), but I'm postponing that 'til tomorrow — better weather. Another chance to enjoy Baby Blue while the sun shines! 🌞

Getting cooler again here in the mountains, 62°F/17°C. Winter home uniform (flannel pajama pants, t-shirt, flannel shirt or sweater, lined slippers) replaces the summer outfit (cotton shorts, t-shirt, flipflops).
Bumping the bedding back up too: duvet/cover makes its reappearance.
Hoping to make the most of what nice weather we have left, before Winter marches in. 🍂 🍁 ❄️

As beautiful days go, this one was literally remarkable. Mostly sunny skies, low humidity, nice breeze, 72°F/22°C.
Down to the Susquehanna River for groceries & sundries, where it's warmer. The drive back up into the mountains where I live is always nice, as the temp drops 6-8°F.

We're back to beautiful weather here in NEPA. I intend to take advantage of that.
The leaves of the burning bush outside my bedroom window are starting to turn red. No! I have so much more I want to do before Winter! Time to "floor it" through the fun things on my list!
We generally have very nice weather through September/October ("Indian Summer"), so there is some time left. Just feeling that sense of mortality that comes with hints of Fall.

Visited our local butcher Stepniak Beef this afternoon. Beef sticks, and a smoked Kielbasa. I like living where I can buy locally grown and processed foods. Especially in this age of corporate enshitification (literally, as seen with lettuce).
Yes, it's a very red county. And no, there aren't many ethnic food choices nearby. But living here does have it's advantages: beautiful country, clean air, clean water, local foods, etc.
