Thankful – Day 12 of 365
Today I am thankful for the beauty of nature. Whenever I feel stressed, I just walk outside and put my toes in the grass. I take a deep breath of fresh air and listen to the birds chirping in the tree. Ahhhhh! Yesterday, my husband and I did some yardwork to prepare for the big party next weekend. We planted some colorful flowers in the flower boxes attached to our fence. We had planted flowers there earlier in the Spring, but with our extremely hot summer, they withered and died. Hoping that these will last longer, now that temperatures are going down. The tags said they love full sun, so that’s what they will get. Thank you, God, for the plants, trees and flowers that beautify our world, give us oxygen to breathe, and give us respite from the stress of life.

Gratitude, Happenings, Observations …
1. After a crazy June and busy July, August brought slower days and sweet joys, including celebrating my pregnant daughter at her baby shower.
2. Sunsets on the water.
3. A wonderful, relaxing getaway with my beloved friend. Spending time together was a treasure, especially since we now live in different states. I’m thankful for friendship.
4. Pesticide-free, fresh cucumbers from my lovely neighbor’s garden.
5. Desserts turned out adorable and delicious for my daughter’s baby shower.
6. My 29-yr old daughter came into town to celebrate her sister. What fun to have both of my girls together for several days!

9. August heat in Texas is comparable to January cold in New York. I was mostly stuck indoors.

When my employer told me they support Work Life Balance, I probably rolled my eyes. I forgot about a Dr visit on Monday, emailed the boss last Friday to inform that I would be unexpectedly out half a day Monday and all day Wednesday. He actually called me to see if everything was OK. I said, “all is well, I have a Dr appointment on Monday and Wednesday is supposed to be super nice and I want to enjoy it” he said “OK, cool, glad you’re OK. Enjoy” #thankful #work #life
