When my employer told me they support Work Life Balance, I probably rolled my eyes. I forgot about a Dr visit on Monday, emailed the boss last Friday to inform that I would be unexpectedly out half a day Monday and all day Wednesday. He actually called me to see if everything was OK. I said, “all is well, I have a Dr appointment on Monday and Wednesday is supposed to be super nice and I want to enjoy it” he said “OK, cool, glad you’re OK. Enjoy” #thankful #work #life

I feel like Tom Sawyer. I bought an air compressor at a yard sale a few years ago and it has sat in the basement getting filthier by the year. Now I need to use it and my partner is cleaning it. Without my asking.
As much as I bitch about him, I really have to give him credit when he's kind, especially when I haven't asked him to do something.

Yesterday I said #goodbye to the drummer in my #punk band. He'd been with us 4 years and was growing frustrated by a number of factors. I was very 😔 and it fell to me to break the news.

Its the season where i say goodbye to my tutees. It is surprising how attached you can get to people when you have never physically met them. #teaching

#loss is part of life. I feel it very keenly this morning (it's 5am). These people all bought various colours into my life and so I am #thankful However you spin it we are woven together somehow.

Know something I've learned over the past year or two? Being able to love something and not be angry about its flaws is extremely underrated.

Of course, you don't have to settle for mediocrity or compromise your morals, but not everything needs to be completely perfect to still be enjoyable.

This applies to every facet of life, from video games to current events to your daily routine.
