I don't know if there will be any more Rizzoli & Isles books in the future, but I circled back to much earlier in Tess Gerritsen's oeuvre, and I started reading her standalone medical thrillers. I can see how the Rizzoli & Isles series grew from those. The first of her medical thrillers was "Harvest" written in 1996.
