Powdered laundry detergent in boxes seemed to work quite well for decades and then companies switched to liquid in large thick plastic bottles. The boxes were biodegradable when disposed of but the plastic bottles last forever.
Do consumers have the power to motivate manufactures into making boxed powdered detergent again?

The other day, I did a round of white #DressShirt #washing using the soak method and #detergent with #Oxi. These were soaked in a separate basin not to waste water in filling up a bathtub. To help sink the clothing, a 5lbs #FreeWeight was used.
After letting it soak for 6h, I realized that I made an irreversible mistake. The water plus detergent solution was so strong that it dissolved the coating of the free weights and created #rust spots throughout the clothing.
The only good thing is that it messed up the lesser important of the two shirts.

I made my own laundry #detergent out of #chestnuts and it's really good!
I washed my bed lines with it yesterday and had a really good sleep.

"First we were told: Don’t put #detergent pods in your mouth. Remember the #TidePod Challenge? Now a study says the pods aren’t necessarily an eco-friendly option for your washing machine or dishwasher.
"That’s because the pods can contribute to plastic pollution when they’re used the 'right' way. They leak large amounts of untreated #PVA that can potentially enter #groundwater resources and #water systems and #contaminate the human food chain, according to a literature review by researchers with Arizona State University and the California nonprofit Plastic Oceans International."
