Does anyone know about #dishwashers? Bit of an unusual request, I realise, but it keeps throwing this undocumented error code and I'd like to know how to fix it. Code "F8 E4". Model Hotpoint H7IHP42LUK

Looking online, the solution seems to be to open the bottom and make sure there's no resting water down there... but I can't work out how to get it open.

Would appreciate any quick fixes just to get it going for today - hoping mfg will be able to sort it longterm.

After being "that guy" who always talks about #dishwashers after watching @TechConnectify's videos: loose powder vs. dishwasher pods, etc etc..

..I've gone back to pods myself.

I was using loose powder before and seeing "dusty" residue after each cycle. Got a free sample of pods from my local grocery store and .. it was spotless.

I guess powder quality matters. The loose powder in stores near me is crap.

So yeah, I've gone back to pods. I can't argue with the results.

Sitting on the couch, munching water crackers, all the while being serenaded by the slowly (read rapidly) dying dishwasher. It “sings” loudly (like nails running down a blackboard but with metal) but too much to make it unbearable, not urgent enough to make the need to lash out on a new dishwasher that pressing.

While I curse my future self, I nod sagely as I think of the money I am saving by not replacing it immediately😀.
