This morning we went out to see whether there was a cat, there wasn't (he was at the neighbors), but there was a package that had evidently been delivered with the cat's signature.
There were very little indication on who the seller was, which meant I knew who the seller was, so, #unboxing time?
Contrary to what people here may expect from the unmarked box it's not an adult toy, but it's definitely a toy for adults, or at least it requires adult supervision for assembly and contains small pieces not suitable for children under 3 :D

Almost a year ago and days from my birthday I got my #Mega65 delivered to the door. Within minutes I open up the package and started playing with my new toy.
And of course I forgot to pause and appreciate the time someone spent creating the cover art. So today I'm doing just that. The mega comes in a really nice box and it really creates the feeling of a true birthday present!

The only instructions you receive are printed directly on the packaging. A great extension option is the #MikroBus: https://www.mikroe.com/mikrobus - It has both a #serial and an #I2C bus via which #IoT sensors can be connected.
There is also the option of connecting an #SSD, which I used immediately. I would also like to use the router as a #weather #monitoring station via appropriate sensors and then save the data on the SSD and have it evaluated and displayed via a #web #server.
The accessories supplied include a power supply unit, antennas, some screws and jumpers as well as a screwdriver. However, the screws on the case were so tight that I needed a better tool to open it.
I plan to provide my neighborhood with free #wifi via the router. I also want to run some web applications there and make them publicly accessible on the #Internet. So stay tuned and I will tell you here about the #configuration, #installation and results ...

Typewriter ribbon unboxing! I bought a full reel of 660 yards of blue/green bichrome 1/2″ nylon typewriter ribbon from Fine Line Ribbon in Ennis, TX. It arrived yesterday, just in time for some use over the weekend. I’ve now got enough for more than 41 universal 2″ diameter (16 yard) spools, so I should be able to ribbon up my entire collection and have some left over.
Latex gloves and a good rag are necessary when spooling up from a 660 yard reel of nylon ribbon. -
