Turbinicarpus klinkerianus - Turbinicarpus schmiedickeanus subsp. klinkerianus -this had been lumped into Gymnocactus for years, it seems Turbinicarpus is back in... Tiny thing, it seems to flower every time I water? (not that often...lol)

It's been a very entertaining houseplant. I recommend it!

Just go buy a pack of tamarind paste at a South Asian shop and you get many big seeds in it, as well as a tasty seasoning for diverse dishes.

For the Sunday #Houseplants crowd, here's my home grown #tamarind tree. I'm just about to trim it back, which requires much mustering of bravery.

Feels brutal, but I want to bound its growth bonsai style. Its new leaves have been more compact recently, so it is making a transition, realizing that it's not going to get to be a 20m to tree.

What's not in focus can be just as important as what *is* in focus in a photo! In this case I like the colours and shapes of the background- it might have been ideal to *not* have the pinky blur (another bud) to the right of the #flower, but it adds to the effect of the red-brown blur looking like an alien/sasquatch 😆 #photography #Macro #BeautyInTheDetails #ArtsyFartsy

Velvety Gynura Aurantiaca before I pinched off the blooms. The sparkly one is a Pinguicula Cyclosecta, and it actually digests bugs. I noticed that there was a tiny baby plant just forming at the base. #houseplants #carnivorousplants #insectivores
