I'm enjoying writing my web novel "A Middle-aged Middle Manager Becomes a Demon Lord" and it's getting a little bit of traction.
If I've read the data correctly, I'm getting hundreds of people checking out the synopsis but nobody actually reading it. So, I rewrote the synopsis, adding a little more context.
The other thing I need to do is make a cover. Or pay someone to make a cover. The big hurdle is that I'm unemployed so my budget is pretty low. I really don't want to use AI.
Anyway, I'll keep writing and keeping an eye out for a cover artist. Eventually, I'd love to turn it into a manga.
I'd appreciate any feedback or views of the book. I'm not a professional author, so feedback is genuinely wanted.
The link and synopsis:
The gods have begun to move in opposition to the Jealous God. Things cannot stand as they are. The world is at the brink of a mass extinction event.
The stakes are the highest possible for humans and demons alike. The goddess Nemesis has found a champion to face down these threats: Steve, an exhausted, introverted, and depressed middle-aged nerd.
Alone and untrained and completely overwhelmed, Steve has no clue where to start. It seems like an impossible task and the clock is ticking.
How will Steve restore the demon nations to power? How will he change the course of history? How will he overcome the influence and power of the Jealous god?
Through the power of Love & Friendship, of course! And some magic, deception, violence, and financial crimes.

I've been on a webnovel spree lately. I finished Mother of Learning a couple of weeks ago and I wasn't expecting much (I'm not all that into progression fantasy) but I was pleasantly surprised. It's actually really good and I was hooked from start to finish. 9/10 loved the worldbuilding.

Tenho gostado de ler mais web novels do que esperava. Uma recomendação em inglês: "Climbing the Tower with Time-Stop Ability". https://www.novelupdates.com/series/climbing-the-tower-with-time-stop-ability/. Uma pena que está em andamento.

Chatterbox Turbo is amazing! Long are gone the days I had to use Google #TTS / Speech Synthesis to listen to my ebooks. First it was Kokoro TTS, then F5-TTS but now Chatterbox Turbo is king. It sounds realistic enough, but the best thing is that it is Fast. I did an entire ebook in about an hour and a half.
Perfect for the #webNovels and #lightnovels I like to read. -

I fell in love with these novels and have read them many times now. The anime is amazing but this volume cemented my love for the novels.
Solo Leveling Volume 4 cranks up the action with jaw-dropping battles & unexpected twists! Jin-Woo’s power evolution is on full display, making this one of the most intense entries yet. ⚔️🔥

This webnovel series is SO TRASHY but I love it 🤣
English translation - Look for it in Novel Updates - "Da Li Temple".The translation is frankly dire but it's serviceable. Can't complain about fan subs lol

So was anyone going to tell me that Fei Tian Ye Xiang wrote 13 chapters of noncon porn about Liu Bang/Xiang Yu or were you just waiting for me to find out by myself? 😳

#intro post for yr. villainous friend
Hello! I'm Rae and I'm here for #fandom, primarily #webnovels of the #danmei, #baihe, #wuxia, and/or #xianxia variety. I watch the occasional #cdrama too, but very slowly. As you can tell from my name, I am an #MDZS fan (also #SVSSS and #TGCF). I'm currently doing a #ChuLiuxiangReadalong, watching #LegendOfFei, and constantly thinking about #ALeagueOfNobleman and its source novel #ZhangGongAn. I love villains and stories about conflicting loyalties, dark pasts and mysterious secrets. I write fanfic and share it here.
Other than fandom, I post a little about #ChineseHistory, learning Mandarin (just passed HSK 3 and HSKK Elementary!), historical bookbinding, personal web dev, and so on. I'm in the Central European time zone and also read German, plus a tiny bit of Swedish.

Somebody shared the #JoyOfLife novel, translated into English (her pet project) in epub.
I was bracing myself to read it on the web. I tend to compile the reads into an epub for my own personal consumption as I don't really enjoy reading things on the web. Fansubbers don't like people scrapping their stuff and resharing (for obvious reasons) but as this is from the translator herself, I think it's safe to share.

I wanted an #RSS feed for the rising stars on #royalroad so I could keep up with new #litrpg and #webnovels. 4. I'm a True Villainess 1 by Flowing Honey
Manta recently (like a couple days ago) added the original webnovels for their popular series and I, of course, bought the entire series for this one because it's my fav from the villainess subgenre because the plotting is both classic and bonkers lol and I love the main couple.
As expected, the webnovel has details that were glossed over or just skipped in the webtoon: like the fact that Seria goes to Rouche's territory annually to inspect the lake & glacier and that he has an informal ritual of welcoming her over a cup of tea. That little detail casts their relationship in a new light. The history! The fact that he's always low-key liked her despite her atrocious reputation and is high-key pissed that she "changed" due to falling in love with Callus!
I'm excited to read the rest of the series (5 more volumes + bonus stories).

Hello all, much like others I'm trying out Mastodon after today's #twitter fiasco so here's my #introduction post!
I'm Rose and I'm a married #asexual ciswoman. I work as a data analyst for local government in the #UK and am interested in #data topics. I am currently doing an apprenticeship in data analytics and hope to learn a lot.
Outside of work, I am a shy geek who loves #videogames (especially #rpgs and #otomegames ) , #manga , #LightNovels and #webnovels.
Nice to meet you all! 🙂

My reaction to this article:
Actually, it's the other way around. It is adaptations into live-action that see the most changes from the original material, not adaptations in printed literature. ;)
However, as far as Copyright laws are concerned, if you have a Licence to adapt, you can change it.
Changes in live-action adaptations of literature works is nothing new. There are countless examples of that, for example Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan novels; H. G. Wells's War of the Worlds; William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet; Louisa May Alcott's Little Women; and many more.
There is no “battle between revision and the originality”. If an author doesn't want the licensee to make drastic, or any, changes, then they should produce it themselves, or include it in their License Agreement.
We also must accept that adapting a work from literature to live-action is never easy. The budget and time constraints are more than enough to justify changes.
But adapting a live-action work into literature is easier, and actually more fun, because an author can provide more details which were not possible in the original live-action work.

#DecRecs Day 18 - From a Knight to Lady by Ink & Hyerim Sung
While I'm more into the villainess genre of #webtoons & #webnovels, this reincarnation #webtoon caught my interest. Estelle was once a kingdom's head knight until she was betrayed & killed. She then reincarnates as a beautiful noblewoman from the empire that destroyed her kingdom. Now she has to navigate her new life. Oh & she's also engaged to a man who was once her enemy on the battlefield!! It's delicious. :ablobcatbongo:
