Chatterbox Turbo is amazing! Long are gone the days I had to use Google #TTS / Speech Synthesis to listen to my ebooks. First it was Kokoro TTS, then F5-TTS but now Chatterbox Turbo is king. It sounds realistic enough, but the best thing is that it is Fast. I did an entire ebook in about an hour and a half.
Perfect for the #webNovels and #lightnovels I like to read. -

Hello! I'm Rae and I'm here for #fandom, primarily #webnovels of the #danmei, #baihe, #wuxia, and/or #xianxia variety. I watch the occasional #cdrama too, but very slowly. As you can tell from my name, I am an #MDZS fan (also #SVSSS and #TGCF). I'm currently doing a #ChuLiuxiangReadalong, watching #LegendOfFei, and constantly thinking about #ALeagueOfNobleman and its source novel #ZhangGongAn. I love villains and stories about conflicting loyalties, dark pasts and mysterious secrets. I write fanfic and share it here.
Other than fandom, I post a little about #ChineseHistory, learning Mandarin (just passed HSK 3 and HSKK Elementary!), historical bookbinding, personal web dev, and so on. I'm in the Central European time zone and also read German, plus a tiny bit of Swedish.

Somebody shared the #JoyOfLife novel, translated into English (her pet project) in epub.
I was bracing myself to read it on the web. I tend to compile the reads into an epub for my own personal consumption as I don't really enjoy reading things on the web. Fansubbers don't like people scrapping their stuff and resharing (for obvious reasons) but as this is from the translator herself, I think it's safe to share.

My reaction to this article:
Actually, it's the other way around. It is adaptations into live-action that see the most changes from the original material, not adaptations in printed literature. ;)
However, as far as Copyright laws are concerned, if you have a Licence to adapt, you can change it.
Changes in live-action adaptations of literature works is nothing new. There are countless examples of that, for example Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan novels; H. G. Wells's War of the Worlds; William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet; Louisa May Alcott's Little Women; and many more.
There is no “battle between revision and the originality”. If an author doesn't want the licensee to make drastic, or any, changes, then they should produce it themselves, or include it in their License Agreement.
We also must accept that adapting a work from literature to live-action is never easy. The budget and time constraints are more than enough to justify changes.
But adapting a live-action work into literature is easier, and actually more fun, because an author can provide more details which were not possible in the original live-action work.
