To be very, very, _very_ honest I'm not with the Chinese on how thick a matress should be*, but their duvets always look amazing! This one not only got the thick edge "ribbon" in a contrasting colour - the seam between the edge and the duvet top is covered with a decorative ribbon. *Chef's kiss* A+!

I've often wondered what's behind the custom - what poisons can cause a chemical reaction so fast and so strong, and still be masked by food?

IRL politicians (that are normal good-enough people) have to handle Known Horrible Entities all the time. And they have to pretend these KHEs are decent, despite all evidence to the contrary. So this trope is not as unlikely as it seems.
