Guter Film.
Starker, gefühlvoller, grandios gespielter, gut erzählter Film.
Wenn ihr mal über den stolpern solltet, dann ergreift die Chance ihn anzusehen. -
Ieri ho visto #TheWhale, l'ho trovato veramente bellissimo, e gli Oscar ricevuti meritatissimi. Da cattolica non posso che "applaudire" alla disarmante sofferenza che viene gettata in faccia al giovane missionario. Spesso la nostra non credibilità ci rende quasi ridicoli. #DarrenAronofsky un profeta e un poeta.

Tak jsem konečně viděl Velrybu (The Whale) a musím říct, že z toho filmu mám rozporuplné pocity.
Vynikající herecký výkon Brandona Frasera, ale i vedlejších postav, naprosto geniální maskérská práce, slušná režie i hudba, ale čekal jsem nějakou silnější pointu. Mám rád minimalistický konverzační filmy, ale tady mi prostě chybělo něco z čeho bych si vyloženě sedl na pr*el.6/10

Finally saw this. He definitely did a great job. Can't recall who he was up against for the Oscar, but I suppose he deserved it, sentimentality.
Over all it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Not that everyone didn't do a good job, but it was sort of "meh."
Sadie Sink was good.

I finally got around to watching The Whale tonight. My dad died last month, and I'm here alone in his house sifting through the fragments he left behind. I recognize the cheesy melodrama in this movie, but I also recognize the truth of it. I finally had a good cry for my dad thanks to this movie. 🥲

## The Whale
The story of a man who dropped out of life by eating falls apart. A terrifically depressing story, filled with cringe-inducing story arcs and longshots meant to leave you sitting in self-humiliation. Mission accomplished.Brandon Fraser did his best, but I could have done without the fat suit business. It was too much to overlook, for me.
