If I understand this correctly, #llm coding agents can now take proprietary software as a reference and develop independent "clean-room reimplementations" from it.

That seems to be what the ArtCraft initiative is doing with its #rust reimplementations of #photoshop and Co., native clones of Adobe's apps for #linux, macOS and Windows.

I haven’t tried them myself, but the idea that complex proprietary software can increasingly be recreated this way is a bit spooky.
