I noticed offenders mum was that distraught she incriminated her own son at #RTC scene, even telling #officers she had warned him previously about his standard of #driving - it does beg the question "where is dad?" are they even still together, or did they become estranged because dad was equally a bad driver and didn't set a good example?

The penalties for intentionally harming #animals are just too light. It's usually #probation, a small fine, and period of <5 years where the #offender isn't allowed to own animals. It's woefully inadequate, IMO. Intentionally abusing an #animal should come with a mandatory 3-year #imprisonment for a first #offense. If the animal dies as a result, the minimum should be 5-years. Those terms should go up for repeat offenders.
