  1. TABLE FOR TWO
And this one is right beside the window overlooking the Durham Heritage Coast!
A scenic spot on the south side of Seaham at Noses Point in NE England overlooking the coastal magnesian limestone landscape that was acquired some years back by the National Trust as part of Project Neptune.
The Heritage Coast runs all the way down to Hartlepool Headland and it you enjoy fresh air and stretching your legs, the clifftop paths provide ample opportunities, not to mention great views to the distant North York Moors.

  2. Phil Cook is one of the hardest working musicians in the business. In addition to releasing his own solo albums he guests on people's albums and helps produce the Blind Boys of Alabama record. Currently living here in #Durham, NC I run into him frequently and can tell you he's one of the nicest dudes you'll ever meet.

All this is to say I stumbled across this full live set by Phil at the Inaugural Eaux Claires Festival (7/18/2015) and it's fantastic. Plus this is right before he released "Southland Mission," my favorite era of Phil. #Choogle galore.

Check it out youtube.com/watch?v=rjTBvRQ0U6w and when you're done check out his most recent album “Appalachia Borealis." He's in his solo piano era and the compositions are beautiful.

  4. Stokes’ presence and group stage drama add to One-Day Cup’s quiet resurgence
By Ali Martin at New Road, Worcester

Dawn of the Hundred may have ‘devalued’ the competition, but events at New Road show there is still life in county cricket

  6. It is rare for families of both #victims and #offender to fully co-operate with a #crime documentary, but this is exactly what has happened following this fatal #collision in #Durham NE #England

Whole #documentary is on Durham #constabulary YouTube - even I found tihs difficult to watch in spite of having regularly viewed stuff like this for 40 years - maybe because whole incident was completely avoidable.

I noticed offenders mum was that distraught she incriminated her own son at #RTC scene, even telling #officers she had warned him previously about his standard of #driving - it does beg the question "where is dad?" are they even still together, or did they become estranged because dad was equally a bad driver and didn't set a good example?

  9. A visit to the gardens at Crook Hall in Durham, NE England this afternoon and feeling pleasant at 21°C in the cloudless skies.
Looking quite luxuriant in the summer sunshine, I like the fact that the gardens appear to have been laid out and adapted to fit around the contours of the landscape and its Grade I listed house, that has likewise grown and adapted to different needs through the 13th or 14th to 18th centuries.
I also appreciate that the gardens are not overly manicured like some properties and they have a real knack of reflecting the seasons beautifully (the growing apples in the orchard garden a reminder of the direction we are heading!).
The property became a recent acquisition of the National Trust, so if you are a member, you get in free!

  10. Durham city 10km on a warm evening, pretty happy with 47:19 chip time, the hills seem just a little tougher every year but they are a great way to stretch out the field in the first 3km then finish us off in the last 1.5km with the run up to the cathedral.
