Immigration Prayer Vigil held in front of Orlando City Hall
On the 7th of June, faith activists held one of their every other week prayer vigils in front of Orlando's City Hall. This week, it was Orlando Muslims that bottomlined the vigil but many faiths were represented.
Several of the participants had been at the previous day's vigil in front of Alligator Auschwitz, which is closing but at the moment is nastier than ever. Several of the speeches were about this concentration camp.
One activist spoke on the urgent warning that has gotten out of the camp that detainees who won't sign "voluntary" departure papers are being denied WATER.
If anyone wonders why Orlando's City Hall is a venue for this, both the Orange County Sheriff's Office and the Orlando Police have signed 287(g) agreements with ICE. Some officials (notably in Key West) were threatened with removal last year for failing to sign these collaborationist deals and folded under pressure. Their obligations however were to either force DeathSantis to remove them or resign themselves. Collaboration with ICE is the same as collaboration with Hitler and no excuses can be accepted, ever.
Orlando and Orange County need to revoke their 287(g) agreements, and let the chips fall where they may. If it is illegal to have a jail without a 287(g) deal to let ICE fish in it, closing the jail entirely is the legal way out of this one. The Orlando PD and Orange County Sheriff's Office can go too as far as I am concerned.

Alligator Auschwitz EMERGENCY alert
DeSantis's concentration camp in the Everglades is supposed to close this month. Unfortunately they seem to by trying to dispose of the hostages held in this hellhole.
A report has come out of the camp that detainees (HOSTAGES held by trump) are being denied WATER unless they sign papers "agreeing" to "voluntary" deportation. Being denied water can cause death in as few as 5 days and permanent injury in even less.
This is DeSantis and Trump following in the footsteps of Hitler's Nazis when they had to flee a concentration camp before the advance of the Red Army. That batch of Nazis attempted to kill as many detainees as possible (trying to kill ALL of them), then raze the camps to the ground to dispose of the evidence. The Red Army was too fast for that and the Nazis were overrun with many camps still standing.
Today, as DeSantis and the State of Florida try to dispose of AA as they are not getting paid for it, they too may be seeking to dispose of detainees other than by release or even by transfer to other dungeouns and hellholes. "Voluntary" departure or death by thirst, either achieves the "Make AmeriKKKa White Again" objective shared by Trump and DeSantis.
Instead of thunderous divisions of Red Army artillery, the Nazis at AA face the booming drums of state budget constraints. The millions of dollars they expected from Trump have apparently not shown up, and the incoming bills are howling in like so many heavy shells.

This strikes me as an absolutely bizarre post, because it can be accurately rephrased as:
"Welcome home to victim Justo Betancourt, who been released from the concentration camp known as Alligator Auschwitz, which Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had built and operates at my suggestion as an effort to flatter and fluff me, and which my fascist stormtroopers threw him in after they rounded him up and illegally arrested him while violating pretty much every one of his constitutional and natural rights."
Odd thing to take credit for, particularly when he notes he didn't actually have anything to do with releasing him, and credits the victim's daughter for that effort.

We just won a victory: The NY times quotes Betty Osceola of the Mikosukkee Nation as reporting that vendors at Alligator Auschwitz have been told all detainees will be out by early June. The site is to return to being a training airport.
In other words, Alligator Auschwitz is CLOSING, all hostages will be tranferred to other concentration camps, but they won't have this one any more. AA was often used as punishment to force hostages to drop asylum claims and will no longer be available for that purpose.
Wondering if the mosquitoes were too much even for the guards? This would explain the June closure schedule.
Maybe the tribe's lawsuits played a role in closing this hellhole?
Alternately, maybe ICE has decided the mega-warehouses are what they want to focus on. Is the fact that DeSantis is term limited out on Jan 20 2027 the reason?

Florida plans to close Alligator Auschwitz concentration camp
> Florida intends to shut down the controversial federal camp known as #alligatorAuschwitz. According to The New York Times, vendors working at the Everglades family & child torture prison were informed Tuesday that approximately 1,400 detainees are expected to be transferred or deported before the site closes in early June. Contractors were also told to begin dismantling temporary infrastructure, including trailers and fencing.

Amnesty International reports TORTURE BOX used at Alligator Auschwitz.
Apparently Alligator Auschwitz is really earning the name. Four different men have reported to Amnesty that a 2 foot by 2 foot cage outside in the weather AND THE MOSQUITOES is being used to torture detainees for trifles. Detainees are shackled so they cannot sit or change positions, and exposed to the sun, rain, and dense clouds of mosquitoes.
At least one detainee was subjected to this torture for an entire day. If a malaria outbreak begins in all of Florida, Alligator Auschwitz may be the starting point of it.

Dr. Marvin Dunn is a true hero. He's an 85 year old #Florida professor of Black history who was instrumental to getting #AlligatorAuschwitz shut down.
Now he's suing Miami Dade College over an improper transfer of land from the college to the #Trump Presidential Library. He had to pay $150k upfront to sue and had to borrow that. Now he's crowdfunding the payment.
But they won yesterday to have the case go forward.
