  1. Here they are! My completed Meteion 3D print! I used i.magina3D's Swallow as a base with a custom multicolor paint job that I did!

I decided to go with the silver because I thought having that shimmer across the whole bird would be super cool, but I could give them a white belly too haha!

  6. #creality #CR-10 Smart Pro.

I don't know, but currently, my #CR6SE is my daily driver, and it is working for me.

My only complaint is that the force sensor is sometimes just too weird to work with and sensitive to stupid external factors.

However, the auto-bed-leveling is so convenient, and I haven't had any of the manual-bed-leveling struggles that many beginners have with the #ender series.

The force sensor also makes it more difficult to mod the printer. Not allowing me to #3dprint most #opensource mods, because they are made for the #bltouch and #crtouch.

Finally, the speed is getting to me, and I would love to get a faster printer. But the price of a #voron is a bit too high and I don't have the time for it.

I really wish both #creality and #prusa brought out their own #corexy printers, rather than continuing down this path of #bedslingers and #cartesian printers.

Opinions? Would you get a non core xy today?

  7. If you're interested in open source hardware and open source software in the field of 3D printing, I highly recommend watching this video about the Athena II from Concepts 3D. It offers so many insights, and Nico, the founder of the company, is a really nice guy.

  8. Behold! My first completely unattended successful 2 colour 3D print from my ERCFv2 MMU on my Voron Trident printer. It has taken 15 months from starting to build the MMU to reach this point.

  10. After redeploying a nice H0 rail model buffer, I tried a modular H0 rail tunnel, which also fit wooden rails (like brio / Ikea). It comes with connectors and at the moment in three variants (without windows and two more or less open). Both prototypes printed without supports and my son is happy (that's what really counts)

  11. For this #FreeCADFriday I made a hose passthrough to install a handheld bidet next to the sink cabinet.

It was a fun endeavor to create the assembly. The elements are split to be placed around the hose and hold together via threads. An additional helix on the inside is custom fit onto the hose to prevent it from slipping through the grommet.

  12. This #FreeCADFriday I have another tool for household repairs.

This is a versatile hex wrench I used for switching several faucets.

The FreeCAD file is parameterized so you can easily adapt it to your needs. I have already prepared and uploaded a host of ready-to-print sizes.

(The aerator spanner on the photo can be found in my previous posts.)

  14. Well, my last test prints with the material combination of #PETG and #BVOH (for the support interfaces) turned out very well, after proper drying of both filaments and printing with a single nozzle #BambuLab #X1C. It took quite a bit of fine-tuning in the settings, but now it seems to be working. I am now printing one of the two complicated models in its entirety, the monitor stand for the #NeXT #MegaPixel display.

My first commission (for a friend's sister) - Pilot Moya from #farscape. Not a show I have actually watched, but judging by many reactions to this, maybe I should 😂

Lots of fun working with #osl on this, and kind of challenging finding good reference photos.

  17. One of the joys of #tax season -- getting to choose which #Retro #Calculator to use. Though I owned a #Sharp #Elsimate back in the day (I was the nerd in high school), all were acquired more recently. I loved the aesthetic of the #TexasInstruments #Datamath (I cleaned/rebuilt the battery compartment), and the #Canon 8-T was a must have (SEXAGESIMAL CALCULATOR) for the time calculation functions. These things were GOLD back when I worked in #TV #broadcasting and had to work out segment times for TV programs, etc.

Edit: Forgot, for the Datamath, also had to design and #3dPrint the name badge as the original was lost before I acquired it. Neat exercise that, fun with miniature paint too!
