  1. Hey all, are there any #meshtastic or #meshcore neighbors from #Nashville within my FediVerse reach? Would you be interested in joining my local, experimental #LoRa #mesh network? I’ve just been using it for my party-line chat application on my #cyberdecks, but I think it’s functional enough now that I might like some company…

  6. I know the #blog's been a little quiet over the past 3-4 weeks. I've been utterly swamped with work stuff, and haven't had much time for #cyberdecks. But that doesn't mean that I haven't been thinking about them. I have some new ideas & some new inspiration.

I will be writing it up tomorrow or Tuesday. Assuming that work doesn't intrude (the hazards of self-employment: there is a lot of bleed-through between work life and home life, especially when work & your hobbies have a strong overlap!)

  11. #BBSing from my local coffee shop, this week. Exploring old and interesting #Telnet destinations. I love that more and more USB-C power is being offered — super convenient for #cyberdecks on the go. (#rgb frontlight for the vibes)

  16. “Laura Alice Bracken, a #Geelong-based artist, started building her own cyberdeck as an extension of her creative practice, in which she was experimenting with #MIDI controllers that take #biofrequencies from #plants and transform them into #soundwaves.

But Bracken, 39, wanted something she could take out into #nature and, after falling down a rabbit hole online, her mind started to widen to the world of #cyberdecks.

The device she is making – housed inside a vintage abalone shell – will also double as an e-reader.

“I just found out my #Kindle is about to be made redundant,” she says (Amazon recently announced they would no longer support #eReaders made before 2012).”

“It is a perfectly good Kindle ... so why is it suddenly going to be trash? It’s because they want to sell new ones.”

Warum passiert das kaum im #Fediverse ? Fehlen hier junge Tech-Feministinnen – oder scheitert es an #usability ?

    Podcast dazu:
