  1. Welp... the ol' 3D printer finally got diagnosed. Turns out the Z-axis problems were because my Y-axis eccentric nuts got all loose and made the print bed tilty along the X-axis. So all that quizzical re-leveling effort was focused on the thumbwheels, which was already past the true source of the problem.

With the nuts tighter, that also made my infuriating probe errors disappear.

  2. 3D printers are a great way to keep yourself busy when you don't feel like doing real work. As cool as DIY clicky probes like the Klackender look, I decided to just pick up a CR Touch and make it easy for myself, so I don't give myself yet another project to work on while I'm procrastinating.

  3. After months of looking, I finally found the missing Raspberry Pi 3B+ that I'd earmarked for my overdue Ender 3Pro upgrades. Fell on the floor amid some surplus computer speakers and blended right in. Found it when I decided to send the speakers to Goodwill. Now time for a lighting kit, BL Touch, camera, and Octoprint, so the Ender can be SLIGHTLY less obsolete.

  4. 3 days - that long it took me to finally have my Ender3 working back.

    1. mount of BLTouch -> easy task
    2. recompile marlin -> easy task
    3. make BLTouch work -> 2 days and hundreds of recompile... just to disable ONE option that was making a mess.
    4. pidtune hotend and bed -> one daynow it works and... it is so pretty printing.

Also sidenote acc to our PL talk: i hate that i have to switch language manually between PL and English. Its sick.

Oh and option to disable was:

It’s been nearly a year since I ordered the KP3S Pro, and a slight twinge of shame finally got me to pull the trigger, upgrade it to Klipper and install the probe that I ordered with it over Summer break.(...)

Also falls wer auch zufällig nen #HyperCube mit #BLTouch und PI daheimstehen hat.

  12. 🔧 Auto-bed leveling, the holy grail of 3D printing! 🏆

Do you have it, need it, or prefer the old-school ways? #ABL tech has evolved over time – from the trusty #BLTouch to the quirky load sensors, the futuristic capacitive approach, and even eddy-current solutions! The Voron crew loves tapping or using #Klicky, while some still find solace in the classic piece of paper method. So, what's your leveling secret?

  13. Has anyone implemented the #Klicky #Klipper ABL mod? I've been considering replacing my stock load cell ABL on my #Creality #CR6SE running Klipper with it because it is more affordable than a #BLTouch. Inwould just like more honest feedback and reviews than you would get from #Youtube channels.

  14. The #BLTouch sensor on my #3DPrinter could yet be the death of me. Tried connecting it to two different sockets on the motherboard (BLTouch and Z-Stop) but still #Marlin tells me it isn’t working properly.

  15. @jmw

I personally have never owned or used a #BLTouch, so I can't be much help. But if you want, you can look into other methods that work with #Klipper. It is far easier with Klipper than with #Marlin. But it does depend on your setup and what you are willing to pay.

I personally like the clicky mod for Klipper, and it works with a bunch of setups.

  16. @3dprinting Switched recently my ender3 S1 to klipper, got some great initial prints and started to fine tune it, now I think I’m printing too far away from the bed: already got 2 failed prints, doing something clearly wrong. Someone can point me how to properly level the bed, “paper test” it’s distance, save the bed mesh and how to properly retrieve it in the start code with klipper? #klipper #bedleveling #bltouch #ender3s1 #newbie

  17. #creality #CR-10 Smart Pro.

I don't know, but currently, my #CR6SE is my daily driver, and it is working for me.

My only complaint is that the force sensor is sometimes just too weird to work with and sensitive to stupid external factors.

However, the auto-bed-leveling is so convenient, and I haven't had any of the manual-bed-leveling struggles that many beginners have with the #ender series.

The force sensor also makes it more difficult to mod the printer. Not allowing me to #3dprint most #opensource mods, because they are made for the #bltouch and #crtouch.

Finally, the speed is getting to me, and I would love to get a faster printer. But the price of a #voron is a bit too high and I don't have the time for it.

I really wish both #creality and #prusa brought out their own #corexy printers, rather than continuing down this path of #bedslingers and #cartesian printers.

Opinions? Would you get a non core xy today?

  22. @TreasureDev never heard of this. Will check it out. I have to say, my recent experience with the #cr6se and the force sensor it uses is driving em crazy. Also, it makes it more difficult to build custom heads for your #3dprinter, something which is very easy with an #ender and #bltouch.

  23. Jemensch hier Erfahrung bei der Installation von einem #bltouch sensor an einem #anycubic Mega S #3DDrucker?
Die Nozzle wird immer hart ins Bett gefahren obwohl der Sensor auslösen sollte 😩
