With my new Sovol SV06 “ACE”, I learned the hard way what the Y-belt tension dial does 😄

Too loose → ~20 mm layer shift mid-print.

I used Gates Carbon Drive to tune belt “twang” frequency, then built a stress test suite to validate motion stability:

Я человек открытый — дайте железо, дайте время, и я выдам честный вердикт. Kobra 2 Pro — бедслингер с заявленным полем 220×220 мм и скоростью до 300 мм/с (маркетинговые, разумеется). На бумаге — конкурент Bambu Lab A1 Mini: стол больше, ценник ниже. Казалось бы, чистая победа Кобры. Спойлер: нет. Но обо всём по порядку.

Exploring the Debian (Bullseye) system inside my new Sovol SV06 ACE 3D printer.

SSH access works and the default account has root privileges.
Looks like a Rockchip RK3308 board running Klipper + Mainsail.

Before printing anything I'm making a full OS backup and inventory of what's installed.

Anyone else poking around inside the SV06 ACE at the system level?

Is there no way to attach and read a voltage sensor with Klipper? 🤔 This would be really useful…
If course I could attach them directly to the SBC, but I can't find any way to display that input as voltage in Fluidd either.

Trying to preheat the bed on the #SovolSV08. idle_timeout does nothing, apparently, because the bed still shuts off after ~10 minutes.

I don't want to try to understand these macros people have posted, so instead I'm going to use a #HomeAssistant automation that simply tells the bed to heat, waits 10 minutes, then tells it to heat again, etc.

Has someone out there ever tried to get a #BambuLab Printer, remove the proprietary mainboard and put in a new board and a #rasperrypi with #klipper on it? Would surely be interesting to see the results...

@kims @MamaLake I have successfully wrangled the manufacturer-provided firmwares off my #Sovol SV08 (#3DPrinting) and replaced the code on all three of its microcontrollers with mainline #Klipper and the Katapult bootloader.

I verified it’s a proper upgrade to the printer’s stock setup by proceeding to print a picture-perfect, gapless, 350x350mm first layer.

The first critical step in upgrading this bargain basement #Voron to my multi-toolhead #INDX dream machine is well underway! 🤩

Now I can keep up to date with the coolest new 3D printing software developments! Eddy current bed probing! Adaptive bed meshing! Hacks ahoy!

I've got a really weird issue I need help with:

My modified 3D printer got a Z-Probe (BIQU Microprobe) for calibration. However, for some weird reason, it always falsely measures the left side of the print bed causing that side of prints to get this weird texture-related elephant foot while the right side lacks adhesion (and texture).
I do not understand why the probe would falsely measure on the left, but not the right. It's a classic i3 bedslinger.

I have no clue where either #Klipper or #PrusaSlicer takes those values from. Nowhere did I set 40mm/s speed or 3.4mm³/s max flow, the limits are set way higher everywhere… 😐

For anyone out there who’s having issues with their H36, Fabreeko let me know that they got a whole batch of unflashed boards that they’re now having to replace.

I don’t know whether it’s isolated to their batch or if other vendors got the same.

But not worth banging your head against the wall if it’s not working. It may not be your fault.

Soo,
i finally got my printer back to work and KAMP does its thing.

But when I am using KAMP the Z offset is too high Oo

Does somebody has an idea for me? Since I am really new with Klipper and the Kamp docs aren't very helpful at all I have actually no idea where I need to start with my troubleshooting ^^;

If you're trying to switch your Panda Touch to the K-Touch firmware: just follow the standard OTA procedure and load the firmware.bin and img files. The other 2 files on the Github are apparently not necessary, and you also do not need to use their Windows-only flashing tool. #BigTreeTech #3DPrinting #Klipper

Maybe time to switch the #BigTreeTech Panda Touch over to #Klipper usage? I only ever use it for monitoring purposes and I have plenty of ways to do that.

My Klipper printers on the other hand could use an actual interface that isn’t a phone. #3DPrinting

Hi the #3dprint community. As an owner of an old Original Prusa Mk3s I wasn't willing to pay 279€ only for a color screen and a printing speed boost.
Fortunately, installing a Klipper firmware (using a RPI 3B+) in order to boldly revive it was a success. As I already have equipped the Original Prusa with a RPI, octoprint and Octodash for the screen, I would say that this is a 0€ invest for getting a Mk3.5 class printing machine.

I got an FLSUN V400 as my second 3D #printer after frankensteining my first printer to its limits. It's nice.

It runs (unfortunately not stock by default) Klipper, and comes with the "#SpeederPad", a small ARM-based touchscreen computer to run the UI and the #Klipper software. Also unfortunately, it only has a WiFi connection.

Except... the board inside actually has an unpopulated place on the board for an RJ45 ethernet port.
