@freecad I am designing and building a new enclosure for my 3D printer. I finished the main part already, but another door is still missing. So today I added my acrylic glass parts to the FreeCAD model to think about the second door.

Since this always feels like a rabbithole to me, I created a model of my room, the shelf next to the enclosure, a Eurobox to sit below and the Anycubic Vyper 3D printer.

Bist du fähig einen #Anycubic #Kobra 2 Pro 3D Drucker bei dem Anycubic die Firmware so zerschossen hat, dass die Z-Achse konsequent die Druckplatte zerstören möchte zu reparieren? Oder auszuschlachten für irgendwas? Manuelle dauerhafte Einstellung der Z-Achse geht bei Anycubic nicht. Erst wenn das Gerät läuft kann man die Höhe einstellen, aber hilft auch nicht viel.

A blunt advice for #3DPrinting:

If you want to diy, look into #Voron designs, RatRig, ProForge 300 and others.

HOWEVER if you just want a printer that works, from a company that won't fuck you over, buy a #Prusa. Period. Their attempts at OSI-non-compliant licenses are a piss in the ocean compared to what #BambuLab, #Creality, #FlashForge, #Elegoo, #Anycubic and even #Sovol have been done or are still doing (to be fair, with Sovol it's mostly trashy customer support).

Grosse déception cet appareil. Les fils se coincent plus souvent qu'ils ne passent ou il faut.

Les fils se sont coincés 6 ou 7 fois en une après-mid, et j'ai du démonter 3 fois l'ACE, pour me rendre compte que j'avais même d'anciens bout de fils coincés dans dans les circuits des autres bobines que je n'avais pas testé.
Et a peine relancé, le fils prend encore un mauvais chemin, et obligé d'y retourner. Vraiment je sature.

J'en suis à me demander si plutôt que prendre le ACEpro2 ( ce que je pensais faire ) je ferais pas mieux de me prendre une bambu lab :blobPikaGlare:

A quelques heures de la date limite pour obtenir une ACE pro 2 avec une réduc de 45%, je me rend compte que 99% des fois ou mon print 3D déconne, et ça arrive très souvent, c'est à cause de l'ACE pro 1er du nom.
Conclusion: le 2 serait mieux?
J'y crois a 0%
Par contre, je suis en train de réaliser que je ferais mieux de ne simplement plus utiliser d'ACE pro.
Les prints multicouleurs gaspillent énormément de matière, et surtout je perds plus de temps a démonter l'ACE pour retirer des bouts de fils coincés ou il faut pas, que je n'en gagne en imprimant 3 objets de 3 couleurs différentes sans préparer le plateau entre.

A bunch of notes from 'which 3D printer' hunt.

1. Anycubic Kobra S1

Their slicer is closed binary fork of Orca. x86-64 only, Linux means ubuntu 24.04 package. Orca access needs installing Rinkhals (foss firmware mod).

Their multicolor box is also a dryer.

2. Bambu Lab P1S

Network access only on x86-64 via binary plugin. Bambu slicer can be used on aarch64 but no network. Orca uses that blob too.

@[email protected] @[email protected] sure. But remember, experience with 3D printing as a whole, craftiness of person interested and financial constraints can change a lot for recommendations.

#Prusa is always a good bet, and being a Czech company, you can always take the printer, ride to their HQ and throw it at their face if you're not happy with your purchase. My i3 Mk3S+ has taken a lot of beating for the past 5 years and is still very reliable. Their CORE One+ (referral link) I consider as the best general choice currently. This one I was considering to buy lately as an upgrade for myself.

At the moment, my plan is to build myself VORON2.4. I will take some parts from my Frankensteined Prusa, buy what I need, and voilà! A 3D printer which is exact dimensions I can fit and with most if not all features I want. I feel confident I can pull off this build, though I don't know how you'll fill about it.

For cheaper options, I've heard a lot of good opinions about #Anycubic #Kobra lineup, and currently their Kobra S1 is on sale for just €349. Unfortunately I don't have much more to say about it, as it never was an appealing option for me. Just heard multiple colleagues of mine praising its quality to price ratio.

@derphilipp Die Geräte BambuLabs sind gut und dafür vergleichsweise günstig. Haben aber eine Art vendor lock-in der für Einsteiger kaum zu umgehen ist. Noch günstiger sind Alternativen von Creality oder AnyCubic die aber ggf. etwas mehr Einarbeitung in Dinge wie Slicing und Kalibrierung erfordern. Prusa ist natürlich auch Gold-Standard was Support, Qualität und Nachhaltigkeit angeht. Das hat leider auch seinen Preis. Ich würde (ich habe) mit einem günstigen Creality angefangen um in das Thema reinzukommen und bin immer noch sehr zufrieden damit. #creality #anycubic #prusa #bambulabs #3Dprint #3Dprinting #3Ddruck

Sinon j'ai lancé ma première longue impression. Je suis ravie de voir que mon imprimante gère bien les interruptions d'impressions. Bon, il va rester une ligne un peu bizzare, mais au moins je n'ai pas perdu 1h30 d'impression pour un mauvais contact sur ma prise électrique. ( penser a ne plus jamais brancher d'appareil sur la même multiprise que l'imprimante 3D pendant une impression )

bilan sur 12 lancements d'impression:
11 objets imprimés:

8 réussis: 5 en PLA, 1 en ABS, 2 en PETG

3 ratés: 1 avec le PLA Matte avant de lui mettre une surbobine en PLA et 2 en PETG dont des bouts de fils se décollent.

1 pas fini: En ABS, qui n'a pas réussi a démarrer convenablement.

J'ai retenté avec mon premier fichier. Soudain il n'y a aucun problème.
C'était sans doute le Slicer qui buguait.
Il a planté entre temps, et ça a résolu le problème.

J'ai résolu mon problème sur cet escalier en particulier. Et je sais pas ce qui n'allait pas.
Est ce que c'est parce que j'avais laissé mon objet dans un sous dossier sur blender avant d'importer ?
Ou parce que j'avais oublié d'enregistrer le projet avant de le découper dans mon slicer?
Ou parce qu'il y a des contraintes quant on imprime en PETG qu'il n'y a pas en PLA ?
Je sais pas.

Je trouve des conseils sur le choix du logiciel, des astuces qui servent a rien quand on sait pas faire un cube, et des sites pour télécharger des trucs tout fait. Rien d'autre.

Avant de me lancer dans une modélisation compliquée, je me suis dit qu'il valait mieux que je commence par faire des tests.
Donc je fais un escalier très vite fait sur Blender.
Je le convertie en fichier Stl.
Jusque là tout va bien.
Sauf que l'imprimante ne veut pas l'imprimer.
Aucune idée de pourquoi.
Et c'est un peu pénible, parce que j'ai chercher plein de fois s'il y avait des conseils pour savoir comment modéliser pour l'impression, j'ai jamais rien trouvé de concluant.

Et bien ça a foiré.
Et comme j'avais un doute sur la cause du souci entre le PLA matte, ou le 4eme branchement de fil sur l'ACE, j'ai mis un autre fil et lancé une impression avec pour tester l'ACE. La bobine tournait mais ça faisait des cliquetis inquiétants et elle se vidait dans le vide.
Donc , j'ai tenté de tous mieux rebrancher. Là, ça a l'air de fonctionner. Et j'ai relancé une impression juste en utilisant ce compartiment là.
Ce sera pour une autre fois la double couleur.

Première impression avec 2 couleurs lancée.
Soit, c'est sur 2 objets différents. Mais ça reste un sacré confort de pas avoir à changer de bobine et relancer l'imprimante entre l'un et l'autre.

Et j'en profite aussi pour tester la bobine de PLA matte dans son support de bobine imprimé.
Soit ça se foire dès le premier objet, soit j'aurais une plaquette en PLA matte et une en PLA + dans 1/2h

Au final entre ça, les impressions pour tester la machine ou les bobines, celles futures pour faire un racloir ou un récipient pour récupérer les restes de purge de filaments, je crois que les premiers jours avec une première imprimante 3D on est pas très créatif. 😅

Les bobines en carton ne tournent pas bien dans le module multicolor d'anycubic ( le ACE pro ).
Heureusement, j'ai vu qu'on pouvait imprimer un adaptateur, pour que les bords cartonnés soient entourés d'un support en PLA.
C'est partie pour 3h d'impression ( 3h pour mon 3eme objet, on verra si le 4 prendra 4 h 😅 ). J'espère que ça résoudra vraiment le problème, c'était bien pénible mon impression du bateau de test en PLA Matte, que je devais tourner à la main pour laisser du lest au fil pour pas que l'imprimante s'arrête :blobPikaGlare:

Beaucoup plus gênant, je viens de voir que mon ACE pro à un défaut de construction. NICKEL, je vais devenir une pro qui teste même le SAV dès sa première semaine 🙄

Je voulais déplacer mon imprimante3D, mais j'ai pas réussi à déloger les tubes teflon de l'ACE du module qui le relie à l'imprimante. J'ai bien vu une vidéo tuto qui montrait comment faire sur un précédent modèle. Mais ça fonctionnait pas. Tant pis. J'ai déplacé l'imprimante sur un meuble juste a coté de mon bureau. ça fera l'affaire en attendant que je décide ou je la placerai pour de bon.
