I have a completely cursed 2018 #Ender3 sitting on the floor in my garage 😆

...but my main machine is a Sovol SV-07 that I got a couple years ago.

It's a bit flawed, a little bit buggy on the software side, but it's got Klipper and it prints decently reliably and fast. It has mesh bed leveling and bed springs, for some silly reason. But I don't print very often, and for the most part, it just works.

A #Prusa #CoreXY would be crazy cool, but they're out of my price league. ;)

Put the ApolloLander hotend shroud on one of my Ender 3 (https://www.printables.com/model/544890-apollolander-stock-hotend-dual-5015)

Hoping the improved part cooling should give better overhangs.

Before, I was using the Satsana cooling shroud (with stock fans), which improved overhangs massively, but i had to switch back to the stock setup when I changed the extruder to the Orbiter v2.5

@VogueLaGalere This is so much more comfortable than a few years ago. I remember measuring the height map on my #Ender3. I purchased a cheap digital dial gauge, decoded its data stream and used an #arduino for the data acquisition. I had a #python script generating G-Code for the toolhead movement and data collection. I used #matplotlib to create the heightmaps.

It was tedious and unreliable, but I learned a lot. I came up with some pretty neat plots though...

The spool holder I was using before snapped mid-print, sooooooooo... I rather make my own lol

I wanted to set up automatic Z offset calibration on my Ender 3 V2 3D printer, but found the documentation sparse and confusing. So I did it, and have documented it! I hope this helps at least one person out there who has specifically the same points of confusion as I had and no others.

I installed the print bed at my #voron trident. This thing is massive!

This 10 mm thick aluminium piece measures 300 mm x 300 mm and weighs 3,1 kg.

I added a glass surface from my #Ender3 for comparison...

Endlich mal wieder ein größeres #Projekt abgeschlossen. Aus über 30 Einzelteile ist dieser X-Wing aus #StarWars zusammengesetzt. Gut 40 cm lang und 30 cm breit. Die Flügel lassen sich aufklappen.
Der Druck der Teile hat die letzten 3 Wochen über mehrere Tage gedauert.

Nächstes Projekt: der Tie-Fighter 😉

I finally found a use for that old OrangePi 3b I had laying around forever. I’ve leveled up my Ender 3 with OctoPrint, a Creality Sprite extruder, and now a webcam!

Thanks to Gemini for helping me get the OrangePi configured with DietPi and OctoPrint.

If you look closely, you can see that my printer is having some ... issues.

Too hot? Too cold? Too damp? Too fast? Too slow? I'm sure it's some combination of all of those.

Ile energii zużywa #Ender3
- grzanie na początku około 250W
- drukowanie z utrzymywaniem 65° C około 125W
- przy 60° C już tylko 105W
- w temperaturze pokojowej około 20° C

Drukowałem obudowę do #Czasotermometr na płytce prototypowej 5x7 i zastanawiałem się ile to drukowanie właściwie kosztuje

Die dunkle und kalte Jahreszeit nutze ich um ein paar kleine Projekte am #3DDruck zu drucken.
Aktuell ein Modell einer Sojuz-Kapsel. Gestern kam dann irgendwie nur Schrott raus. Stellt sich heraus: Extruder-Arm gebrochen. Kumpel hat mit heute ein Ersatzteil gedruckt und schon läuft die Kiste wieder. Auch nach 6 Jahren noch immer top.

Al fin, pude hacer funcionar la impresora 3D del colegio. Resulta que tenia el clap del extrusor roto y por eso subextruia todo el tiempo. Me imprimí el reemplazo en casa y ahora parece que está joya.

New extruder installed. Already calibrated the rotation distance. Still need to do pressure advance and input shaping.

It seems like the print quality is better. I wasn't really expecting that.

Like just less artifacts. The hotend is the same.

I had to remove the satsana cooling shroud because it wouldn't fit with the bracket i used to attach the orbiter extruder, but it's ok because I want to replace the entire tool head with a Voron Stealthburner anyway eventually.

@Errantus Tengo una #Creality #Ender3 que le compré a un amigo hace muchos años. Con ella hice muchos prototipos y cosas interesantes.. pero sentía que ya se había quedado atrás tecnologicamente. Simplemente el proceso de calibración en la Ender puede demorar hasta 20 minutos de trabajo manual, y en esta nueva es automático y super preciso. Mi señora, al ver sus capacidades, empezó a pedirme adornos para el arbol. En eso se estrenó.

I have this adapter thing I designed years ago that I originally printed on my #Ender3. I decided I'd reprint it on a modern printer to hopefully get a better result. The main issue is that it has little surface area touching the bed and has 60+ degree overhangs.

1st attempt: Despite using support interface material, the supports stuck way too hard.

2nd attempt: Used less support, but the interface material still stuck too hard. Also the entire part warped.

I'm just going to re-use the original part at this point because that was 12+ hours of printing down the drain.

I think the slow print speed on the Ender 3 was unintentionally very helpful with this particular part. Also, support interface material works decently, but not with large surface areas.

The extruder retention clip thing on one of my printers broke. Luckily I had already ordered an Orbiter 2.5 a couple of weeks ago, which should arrive soon.

Hoy estuve en modo hardware a full en el cole. Me puse a mecanizar un chasis con amoladora y limar bordes. Después diseñé rápido una pieza con #freecad y me la puse a imprimir en la #ender3 que tenemos en el cole.

Por el mediodía aprobé a 2 pibes.

Kinda successfully printed! The bottom corner defect seems to be because i didn't apply glue to the area and needed a 60°C bed. I'm SLOWLY learning. #3Dprinting #maker #ender3
