3D printers are a great way to keep yourself busy when you don't feel like doing real work. As cool as DIY clicky probes like the Klackender look, I decided to just pick up a CR Touch and make it easy for myself, so I don't give myself yet another project to work on while I'm procrastinating.

I just added up the price of making my own #CoreXY #3Dprinter.
it wasn't too bad, then I noticed that all the metal work had been deselected, once I added that back (spurt coffee.gif).
I'll just carry on with my #Ender3

Get a 3d printer they said. It's a great hobby they said. It's so much fun and you're going to enjoy it SO MUCH, they said. I do mostly, but apparently my printer is the most sadistic device to have ever extruded filament.
Tried to replace my nozzle with a new one in order to try to reduce stringing and IT SNAPPED OFF IN THE HEATER BLOCK.
Ordered a pair of new heater blocks, then rolled two joints.
Get a 3d printer they said...

Heattower sagt, temperaturtypisches Stringing fängt bei dem eSun PLA+ bei 195 °C an. Bin ich darüber, kein Stringing.
Damit war das gestrige Stringing definitiv ein Problem mit der Düse, die kaputt war. Denn ich drucke das PLA mit 210 °C.

So, das links ist die alte Düse (also 5 Tage alt) und rechts die von Brozzl.
Die alte hatte ich durch das Druckbett gejagt und damit fing sie mit Stringing an.
Die neue ist deutlich dicker und damit sitzt die Silikonsocke straffer. Eigentlich. Denn als ich die Düse austauschen wollte, sah ich, dass die Socke eingerissen ist.
Sie hält etwas, aber ich muss neue kaufen.

So, sollte die Kalibrierung dann aussehen. Satte Quadrate, die nichts durchlassen:

Habe mein Leveling-Problem gelöst.
Folgendes vorgehen:
1. Bed bis nach unten schrauben und dann alle vier Höhenschrauben drei Umdrehungen zurück.
2. Manuelles Leveln mit Levelkarton oder 60-80g Papier
3. Nun -Z-Home auslösen. Der Wert geht ins EPROM
4. Autoleveling zur Feinjustierung.
2 - 4 wiederholen, wenn man das Bed austauscht oder andere mechanische Änderungen macht.

Not at all surprised that my first prints weren't super successful. Not that I think I can but myself out of tuning the printer, or learning my feeds and speeds, but I ended up ordering a new build surface, brass nozzles, and a fresh roll of standard white PLA.
In the spirit of both tuning, and learning, I want to eliminate as many variables as possible. It's a used printer, so I don't know what kind of nozzle is on it, or how much use it's seen. I *do* know the build surface is a wavy mess that's seen its share of close contact with the hot end.
As far as the filament goes, I'm sure I could get the silk PLA going, all other things being in good order, but again, I just want to reduce the number of variables, and get past the first hump of a first completed test print, so I know I'm on the right track as far as setup, and then I can start focusing dialing things in.
I still think the bed needs some work, beyond just replacing the magnetic surface. Levelling the gantry helped some (turned out it was off by roughly half an inch!), And raising the Z-axis limiter helped some more, but that top left corner of the bed is still forced to be at its lower limit (tightened all the way), which is not ideal.
Not sure why the bracket under that end needs to be as thick as it is, but there's got to be a solution involving either the Z-limiter, Z axis offset, or combination of, rather than what my ghetto engineering instincts want, which is to sand that bracket a mm or so thinner.
Anyway, those are my thoughts thus far. I'll pick this up again tomorrow, after work, assuming my parts come at a reasonable time.

Load cell leveling is great, I use it, but it can have its quirks. Just make sure that the bowden tube doesn't mess with the sensor. If you have a direct drive, then I think it would be one of the best solutions if you don't have the flexibility of a #Voron #Stealthburner.

Some have called the LiDar a gimic on the #BambuLab #X1C, so I wonder if #Creality only opten for this for the trend and hype or that they brought in their own design here and use cases.
Furthermore, their first printer with the strain guage was the #crowdfunded and #KickStarter #CR6SR, which I personally have. Although it simplifies the bed leveling process and I never understood or experienced the struggles of #Ender3 leveleing, it had its own problems.
