I really hate when the #filament breaks just at the #extruder. And this time breaked because the #nozzle was completely occluded, apparently. So I have to dismantle the whole #HotEnd and #BowdenTube.

La lavadora de mi madre se descompuso en el agitador. Al revisarla me di cuenta que era la misma falla que había tenido la mía, hace 4 años atrás. Y recordé un diseño que había hecho de las piezas de remplazo (que en ese entonces nunca pude encontrar), diseñadas en #AffinityDesigner, modeladas en #Tinkercad e impresas en la #Ender.

I've assembled the parts to do a major upgrade on my old Ender 3pro 3D printer. I've got a touch-screen display, a 32 bit main board, a BL Touch auto-bed-leveling kit, metal extruder (never had any problems with the stock one, but while I'm tearing it apart, why not?) and an official lighting kit.
I almost certainly would have been better off buying a new printer (and I may yet) but I learn more by working on this one, and that's part of the fun. -

I bought a #creality #ender 5 pro #3Dprinter some days afo, it was in pretty bad shape but I replaced the print bed (the original one had an hole in it...) and nozzle, cleaned it up and greased. It didn't load the filament, the hot end throat was completely clogged, so I cleaned it up and now it prints!!! I printed a... #clothespin 😅
The rationale is that I need to know how the material reacts to real world usage (heat, UV, mechanical stress...): so I dated it and tossed with the other clotespins and will check in a year how it has degraded. -

I'm in the process of buying my first #3Dprinter (#used). I can source a #Creality #Ender 5 Pro locally, and I was wondering what to check before buying. I know it's possible to see in the menu the number of hours worked in the printer's life, but how much is too many?

I spent a day on and off troubleshooting my #Ender 3 v2 to get the damn tugboat benchy to finish…turned out the new bowden tube was unable to handle 220°C. About 15 mins into every print the end would over heat and the filament would break and clog up.
My mistake for blindly trusting weird looking part just b/c I bought it “locally”.
Old short bowden tube working like a champ 🤦♂️

Another case where it's hard to find a good answer on the internet because the 3D printing and 3D printer modding world is so diverse and evolves so fast. While a lot of people claim that the Enders and most 3D printers that take a laser unit will hijack fan control (M106 M107) to control the laser, this is not the case for the 3 S1. I looked at the hex gcode the official tool produces (automatically made me feel like a hacker) and it's G0 + G1 S.

Great so my paper printer / printer driver / PDF app won't obey my borders so all my prints end up shifted, and the laser cutting unit also won't obey SOMETHING, distorting my images. No wonder I got the weirdest test / calibration results. Squares are not square, they are longer by 20% in one dimension. wtf. I need a different tool for creating GCode, Creality Print is shit anyway. Anyone got experience with the laser unit on the Ender 3 S1?
