Ich bin ja gerade am überlegen mit dem 3D drucken mal anzufangen...

Hab überlegt eventuell mir einen Prusa zu holen (wegen Datenschutz und lokalen Support). Kennt sich hier wer aus und kann eventuell Tipps geben?

Ich habe da zwar voll Bock drauf, weiß aber auch noch garnicht so recht, was ich eigentlich dann drucken will. Deswegen schiebe ich das schon länger vor mir her. :)

#Kater steigt ungefragt beim #Prusa ein... Resultat: 3h lange Fehlersuche warum der #octopi mit #octoprint den #3ddrucker nicht mehr erkennt. Das HAT-Board war wohl durch zu viel Katzengewakle relativ zum #raspberrypi verrutscht 🙄🙄🙄 #fml

@[email protected] @[email protected] sure. But remember, experience with 3D printing as a whole, craftiness of person interested and financial constraints can change a lot for recommendations.

#Prusa is always a good bet, and being a Czech company, you can always take the printer, ride to their HQ and throw it at their face if you're not happy with your purchase. My i3 Mk3S+ has taken a lot of beating for the past 5 years and is still very reliable. Their CORE One+ (referral link) I consider as the best general choice currently. This one I was considering to buy lately as an upgrade for myself.

At the moment, my plan is to build myself VORON2.4. I will take some parts from my Frankensteined Prusa, buy what I need, and voilà! A 3D printer which is exact dimensions I can fit and with most if not all features I want. I feel confident I can pull off this build, though I don't know how you'll fill about it.

For cheaper options, I've heard a lot of good opinions about #Anycubic #Kobra lineup, and currently their Kobra S1 is on sale for just €349. Unfortunately I don't have much more to say about it, as it never was an appealing option for me. Just heard multiple colleagues of mine praising its quality to price ratio.

@derphilipp Die Geräte BambuLabs sind gut und dafür vergleichsweise günstig. Haben aber eine Art vendor lock-in der für Einsteiger kaum zu umgehen ist. Noch günstiger sind Alternativen von Creality oder AnyCubic die aber ggf. etwas mehr Einarbeitung in Dinge wie Slicing und Kalibrierung erfordern. Prusa ist natürlich auch Gold-Standard was Support, Qualität und Nachhaltigkeit angeht. Das hat leider auch seinen Preis. Ich würde (ich habe) mit einem günstigen Creality angefangen um in das Thema reinzukommen und bin immer noch sehr zufrieden damit. #creality #anycubic #prusa #bambulabs #3Dprint #3Dprinting #3Ddruck

Are there any good open hardware #3Dprinters out there? I heard bad things about #Prusa

With the softer TPU at hand, I wondered how well does a TPU print with a bowden feeder. Prusa slicer had ready made profiles for the Fiberlogy filaments I have, so I decided to experiment.

The first thing I learned that while there was a profile for the 30D FiberFlex TPU, it was not possible to use it in my printer, it just said it's not compatible. 40D however worked and it loaded just fine.

Print quality was okay. I don't know where I had gotten the misconception that bowden feeder + TPU aren't a thing.

Ich hab ja so eine Prusa-3D-Drucker mit Multimaterial-Upgrade. Die Filamente stehen in einer Kiste daneben, mit dem Trockenperlen-Zeugs.

Und genau das finde ich eigentlich ziemlich nervig, weil man muss es relativ häufig manuell trocken, was ich natürlich nicht tue.

Ich bin jetzt am überlegen, ob ich ein Gehäuse für den Drucker baue und das Filament oben drüber mache, und die Abwärme des Druckers als Trockner fürs Filament nutze. Meint ihr, das funktioniert?

A member spent hours giving it a proper overhaul and it’s back printing lovely parts again — a bit slower than newer machines, but we still love it.

Enormous props to #prusa #printables for having email notifications disabled by default. I posted a design for a card clip recently. When I visited the website a few days later later I noticed the notification dot. Someone had printed my design and left a nice comment.

My expectation for websites these days is to spam the hell out of you for any reason, including none.

I've been making an effort to use #freecad more. This week has been using the #gridfinity workbench to make some socket organizers. #printables is full of them, but it's quick and easy enough to draw up exactly what I need quickly and drop it into #prusaslicer and send it to my #Prusa XL.

FreeCAD has come a long way in a short time and the roadmap for 1.1 looks like it hasn't lost any momentum.

Dialing in the exposure time for Formlabs Creator Super Clear resin, for printing on Prusa SL1S SPEED. I really like the calibration model from Siraya Tech: you only print 70 layers, and you get to learn a lot about your exposure.

I also like the new graphic.

Only thing I'd prefer is a sticker on the spool instead of laser engraving. This would make it easier to read and replace once you refill.

Got an issue with printing #opengrid ...grids: The first layer is still perfect - as I am used to on my C1 - but the second layer then does not stick to the first one very well, as you can see on the image. I guess the issue is that there is a chamfer on the bottom, so the second layer is printed with overhang and thus does not fully connect to the first one.

Any ideas on how to counter that issue?
