@tnsipla.plamo.club - well I’m still thoroughly in the jank era as you can tell. This is a #creality printer older than covid. I was just wondering if anybody would even be interested in it if I gave it away I keep on getting tempted to update but it just kind of works and and if I’m patient, it does nice print jobs. I have taken every part of it to pieces and rebuilt it or modified it so it’s kind of the devil you know but I could make my life a lot easier.

I have watched several videos about the disassembly, but the one thing none of them tell you is how to get the head into the centered maintenance position in the first place... #3dprinter

asking the hivemind for suggestions for 3d printers. Total noob with no particular application in mind other than maybe #3dprint replacement parts for stuff. I am more interested in the things I can print than the printer itself :)

It's important that no functionality is locked behind cloud services or subscriptions. So no #bambulabs I guess, especially after the OrcaSlicer debacle

Maybe a #prusa ? Or are they also enshittified? or a #creality ?

I have been using a Bambu Lab A1 Mini with AMS lite.

A few months ago I switched to a Creality K1 + CFS.

From a multi-material printing view:

I am really surprised how easy, quick and headache-free was to use the AMS compared to CFS, which seems like an afterthought of an afterthought.

It is bulkier, much more complicated, using it is slower, dumber and less reliable than AMS.

So, Lüfter an meinem #Creality Ender 3 V2 Neo ist getauscht. Jetzt mal sehen, ob der Druck wieder läuft.

Die Ersatzteile für meinen #Creality Ender 3 V2 Neo sollten auch demnächst angekommen. Nächste Woche mach ich den wieder fit, drucke ein Teil in PLA und dann starte ich vielleicht noch einen Versuch mit ASA.

A blunt advice for #3DPrinting:

If you want to diy, look into #Voron designs, RatRig, ProForge 300 and others.

HOWEVER if you just want a printer that works, from a company that won't fuck you over, buy a #Prusa. Period. Their attempts at OSI-non-compliant licenses are a piss in the ocean compared to what #BambuLab, #Creality, #FlashForge, #Elegoo, #Anycubic and even #Sovol have been done or are still doing (to be fair, with Sovol it's mostly trashy customer support).

Help!

While removing the extruder on my Creality Hi to clear a jam I damaged the wire that connects the extruder board to the print board and I have NO IDEA where to purchase a replacement wire.

It's a 3pin wire roughly 9cm long with 2 male ends where 1 is about 2mm wide and other about 5mm wide.

MUCH appreciate any advice on where to shop and what search terms to use for locating a replacement, ideally located in the US.

Erstmal einen 17h Druck auf meinem #Creality 3D Drucker angeworfen. Ich brauch jetzt ein paar Haken für mein Skadis Lochbrett in der Garage.

Mal sehen, ob er immer noch ohne Probleme druckt oder ob der neue Druckkopf auch schon wieder den Geist aufgibt beim zweiten Druck.

Ich bin hin und hergerissen. Mein Ender 3V3 SE ist perfekt auf die 0,4 Nozzle kalibriert. Ich drucke am liebsten Miniaturen, da wäre eine 0,2 Düse besser.
