Making calamari myself. Well kinda. These tentacles are made from Sculpey for the ship diorama. First time working with the stuff. So far it’s good. Not as tacky as miliput. But you have to bake it. Test model for an Iron Hands Horus Heresy army, using the early Brazen Claws scheme. Idea is this is late heresy, with Inductii being a component, alongside Immortals - likely other Iron Hands who survived Istvaan - and a core group of Clan Morugul veterans.
I think I need a softer drybrush to do the stippling, but it’s a fun scheme / process that shouldn’t be too bad to scale across an entire army. #warhammer #warhammer30k #minipainting

I am enjoying the call of the painting table and taking advantage of it while I can. This Varank Skinchanger is done for now - I'll paint the base at the same time as the other miniatures in the batch.

Making good progress on my 10mm Starship Troopers project for this upcoming #MillenniumCon here in central Texas this November. I wanted a high contrast with the reddish brown desert, and against the ochre, mint, and plum of the Arachnid forces I painted earlier this year.
L2R: HQ with officer and radio op, fire support mech, medic team, machinegunner, rifle team, missile team with launcher and ammo porter.

This fall I made my first full gaming board-- a 16x16" for a Necropolis campaign with the weirdos of the District of the Damned. XPS foam, balsa wood, a pringles can, sand, & a horse worth of mod podge. I learned a lot & my love of terrain building has only increased. Already chewing on concepts for my next board...

There's a ton to love about these rules. They give a lot of opportunities for cool stuff to happen.
The 2d6 with advantage or disadvantage works incredibly well, and is easy to quickly paint a picture of the success of a given task.
The setting is evocative and intruiging, and the models are ripe for kitbashing opportunities.
This really does fill the void that I've wanted systems like Turnip28 or The Silver Bayonet to fill! Solid game.

Turn three kicked off with the artillery witch floating up to the battlements and lobbing a hell-bomb between the snipers, knocking one off the ledge, and the other dangerously close. Wounding both severely.
They'd take pot shots at the surging Heretic troopers, but to no avail.
Their troops weren't going to stop the Heretics, and that's game.

One of the best things about having a fully painted army for a game is you can buy miniatures to add to your army and just spend a relaxing time painting them.
I'm really looking forward to getting this Salyut Zond on the table. With it I can move easily bring on a combat jumper or buff one of my other Zonds.

I realized post-hoc that if I wanted to field my Traitor Enforcers they needed Ogryn Bodyguards. They're not quite Ogryn, but these mutants are certainly fit for purpose.
