Assembled Zeratul yesterday, twice. VERY annoyed there's only one base in his box. Instructions were great and it was overall a good experience. Be warned the clear plastic is VERY hard and more brittle than the regular plastic. Clipping these off the sprus would break something like god hands. Trying to glue the clear plastic without fogging it is a challenge. It was a pain to find the minimum amount of tamiya thin I needed to glue something. #minipainting #starcraft #archonstudio

Over the past few days, I managed to finish (I think) the Herald of Tzeentch on Burning Chariot.

It's a large model, but I painted it in multiple sub assemblies and over a long period of time so it didn't feel overwhelming and I enjoyed painting it.
I still suck at metallics, but I'm happy with what I have done everywhere else.

The local Warhammer Store is having a week-long birthday thing going on. Each day offers a new, fun event.
That's the product of the first day. The challenge was " here's our box with spare parts, build a demon!".
When I arrived at the store, all the big, cool demon parts were already gone. So I made do with what was left.
I like my Nid-Ghost-whatever thing. And have started painting it. 😊

Making good progress on my 10mm Starship Troopers project for this upcoming #MillenniumCon here in central Texas this November. I wanted a high contrast with the reddish brown desert, and against the ochre, mint, and plum of the Arachnid forces I painted earlier this year.

There's a ton to love about these rules. They give a lot of opportunities for cool stuff to happen.

The 2d6 with advantage or disadvantage works incredibly well, and is easy to quickly paint a picture of the success of a given task.

The setting is evocative and intruiging, and the models are ripe for kitbashing opportunities.

This really does fill the void that I've wanted systems like Turnip28 or The Silver Bayonet to fill! Solid game.

They'd take pot shots at the surging Heretic troopers, but to no avail.

The gargoyles are 5 identical models from Blacklist (I tried to give them some variety in the basing), and the others are 'iron cobras' and 'iron defenders' from wizkids...

...though I'll be using them as clockwork cobras and brass jackals.
