More tiny things. Some white dots in Dreirs lenses, a crimson wash on the brand, sepia on the leathers, and some very thin black ink in some of the recesses to try and create some shadows.

Almost there I think.

Tonight, I kept working on the left side of the back of the daemon prince. I'm trying to refine the look I want.
I think I reached a good stopping point, I need to do the wing arm, leg, the other side and the tail.

As the base is purple, I think it will be a nice bounce light.
I need to not go too bright towards the top.

I didn't have enough shadows on my daemon prince.
I tried to do some lining with a mix of inks and flow improver, but it didn't work out as expected.
I ended up putting a shade over all the skin.
So now, I'm back at repainting each surface one by one.
As I have a rough idea of the placements I want, I already trying to have soft transitions from amethyst blue to violet red.

Tonight I have done another load of small details. Reworked the power sword and claw highlights, highlighted the gas mask tubes. Little things, but each one, I hope, a tiny improvement.

I've repainted completely the back of my daemon prince.
Initially I had blue above the waist, and purple below.
Now, I want to do blue on the front and purple on the back.
The purple is not really a shadow, but just a way to bring contrast. Similarly to how some animals have lighter fur on their belly, and darker on their back.

I'm starting to paint my "converted" old daemon prince of Tzeentch.
I say converted, but I just swapped the head.

As the model is rather large, I'm trying something new.
I'm wet blending straight on the model, trying to place shadows and mid tones.
There is some stuff I'm not happy with, so I will come back at it tomorrow after it dries out.

Still not sure about the color palette.

Over the past few days, I managed to finish (I think) the Herald of Tzeentch on Burning Chariot.

It's a large model, but I painted it in multiple sub assemblies and over a long period of time so it didn't feel overwhelming and I enjoyed painting it.
I still suck at metallics, but I'm happy with what I have done everywhere else.

I'm keeping up my new daily routine.
Today my brush licking led me to paint some books and feathers.

I still have one book and a few scrolls, but things are nicely coming together.

Very satisfying pace and progress.

Between yesterday and today, I've been making some progress on my Herald of Tzeentch.

The scepter is almost done. Most of the work remaining is on the outer disc.

It feels good to be able to paint multiple days in a row and see progress.

Now that my second daughter has a regular sleep rhythm, I'm attempting to replace my hour of TV with 1h of hobby.

Let's see if I can make this regular.

Color blocking on the Daughters of Khaine has started. I've begun with the cloth bits so that I can continue to put off learning how to paint Dark Elf (Drow) skin. I have the Reaper "Drow Skin" Triad of paints, but it's a weeknight so i won't be experimenting tonight, probably this weekend though!
