I didn't have enough shadows on my daemon prince.
I tried to do some lining with a mix of inks and flow improver, but it didn't work out as expected.
I ended up putting a shade over all the skin.
So now, I'm back at repainting each surface one by one.
As I have a rough idea of the placements I want, I already trying to have soft transitions from amethyst blue to violet red.

It's #hobbystreak 24 and tonight I darkened down the sash with blue glazes and put some highlights on the mane. I also found a medal I didn't know he had! Looks like a little skull on a ribbon poking out from under his lapel.

I'm starting to paint my "converted" old daemon prince of Tzeentch.
I say converted, but I just swapped the head.

As the model is rather large, I'm trying something new.
I'm wet blending straight on the model, trying to place shadows and mid tones.
There is some stuff I'm not happy with, so I will come back at it tomorrow after it dries out.

Still not sure about the color palette.

Over the past few days, I managed to finish (I think) the Herald of Tzeentch on Burning Chariot.

It's a large model, but I painted it in multiple sub assemblies and over a long period of time so it didn't feel overwhelming and I enjoyed painting it.
I still suck at metallics, but I'm happy with what I have done everywhere else.

I'm keeping up my new daily routine.
Today my brush licking led me to paint some books and feathers.

I still have one book and a few scrolls, but things are nicely coming together.

Very satisfying pace and progress.

Between yesterday and today, I've been making some progress on my Herald of Tzeentch.

The scepter is almost done. Most of the work remaining is on the outer disc.

It feels good to be able to paint multiple days in a row and see progress.

Another coat of dirty red on the black of the Pink Horrors, followed by Violet red from the bottom, and I think I have a good base.
I'll be able to move to the brush to do the details.
I think it took me roughly the same amount of time as if I would have applied contrast paint with the brush.
But the result with the airbrush is way better.

I've applied the base coat on the pink horrors.
I don't know what I did differently from the blue horrors, but I feel like I got a better result.
Maybe the dry brush helped a lot more. I'll probably put a second coat of the same color next time to increase the saturation. But it has a very low opacity, and we can clearly see the shadows.

I primed my Tzeentch daemons this afternoon. I'll be able to resume painting soon!
I'm planning to use the airbrush a lot to get things painted faster.
For the 20 pink horrors, I'm not planning to spend too much time on the details. I regret having done it on the blue horrors.

10 new pink horrors have been summoned.
This completes the first batch of my Tzeentch army with all/most of the daemons.
This makes 32 more miniatures to paint including an Herald of Tzeentch on Burning Chariot, and a daemon prince.
It will soon be time to take out the airbrush and find time in my day to slay the gray!

I've been quiet those past few days, but I'm slowly building my Tzeentch daemons.
They have a lot of mold lines and gaps, and it takes a while to clean up.
I like the design and variations you can get out of them.

I fixed the mistakes I made when applying the texture paint.
And I applied a first coat on the rim.

I dry brushed the bases. They are a bit bare, but I think it's ok. The rest of the army will have different bases, but I want those to look like they just got summoned from the warp (not sure about AoS lore).
I'm still undecided about the rim: Tzeentch turquoise or black?
Anyway I still have a few touch ups to do, and those will be done.

I worked on the bases of my blue horrors today.
I think the pot of paint is 3 or 4 years old, and it's was hard to work with it.
At first, I didn't think I would have enough.
I hit some painted parts, so I'll have to clean up later.

Last progress for today.
I applied a fluorescent yellow on the flames. We will see the effect after it dries. It's not what I expected, but I think it will stay like that.
I've started the bases. I'm planning a mix of pink, purple and blue, which will show under crackled texture paint.

I dry brushed multiple greens on the flames today.
I don't think it looks good on most of them :'(
The flames are very small, and my smallest dry brush was not giving a smooth result.
I think I'll put some fluorescent yellow on top and call it a day.
The models are fun, but they are too small to be able to do anything smooth and controlled.

More painting today. I did a first base coat of yellow for the flames. It's a slightly desaturated yellow, and I'm planning to do green flames.
I don't want orange flames to pop out too much and become the center of attention against the blue.
