Except for the base. I want to give him a cloudy base with some rocks like a mountain top poking through.
I have to give this some more thought.But I like how he turned out. His gradient is like I imagined.

Woah. Big changes in the new Space Marine codex.
Most of the old Firstborn squads are out, making Primaris the army building choice. Sad? Sure, the old squads hold plenty of nostalgia for me, and the Primaris models don't quite do it for me, but they're fine.
What's really sad is the removal of all the Rhino-based vehicles (the Rhino itself remains in), so your Predators, Vindicators, Whirlwinds and Razorbacks (goodnight sweet prince) are relegated to history.
These changes were happening eventually. No way GW were going to maintain two effectively parallel army lines for the one codex. So I'm not surprised in that regard.
Will light a candle for the lost and forgotten Firstborns either way.
Games Workshop, you better not take my fucking Terminators away.

Just an absolutely hilarious series of errors today playing #Warhammer40k 11th. First I forgot the plunging fire rule which makes attacks from high up better against units on the ground. That was a dumb mistake that my opponent used to great effect.
Second was just the bad luck of pulling a match against Emperors Children. Tyrannids right now aren’t really in the same league as EC in the meta and it shows. We’re not Death Guard bad, who are right now the army that everyone feels bad for, but we’re not as far off as I’d like to be. EC player ran the board and it wasn’t even close. I gotta sit down and figure out how to counter them.
Some days you get a full day of exciting matches. Other days you end up spending most of the match putting your units back in their carrying box. Today was definitely in the second category.
I am surprised given the crush that GW has on Space Marines how poorly Blood Angels are doing in local casual matches in 11th. Typically the poster armies get a bit of a bump and Orcs seem to be killing it. But BAs seem to be having trouble getting lists together for 11th. I watched a very experienced player fail to get any momentum going for three games in a row.
It’s still a weird time for the community. The amount of 3D printed stuff I’m seeing keeps going up, which isn’t bad but it’s not…..good either. The price increases seem to have passed some sort of invisible line where now it seems half the armies I’m playing have some 3D printed stuff in them.
I do think the price stuff is not long term sustainable. Every edition requires new purchases as new strategies emerge. I understand a lot of the 3D printing is “let’s try this unit out and see if it is anything before I commit” but it’s not hard to imagine players just…..not doing that. Especially if the unit is painted already.

I bought the new Helldivers 2 war bond as soon as it was out last week. The other day I finally unlocked the Meltagun and started experimenting with it.
