Working on The Headless Horseman #scalemodel from Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow.
I have all I want cemented together for now (the Horseman isn't actually attached). I typically use a combo of #Tamiya Extra Thin cement and MEK to weld the parts together.
I also have a batch of sprue-goo dissolving down now for some of the gaps. The it'll be two part filler and maybe some putty.

Himmel, ein Hummel in 1:35!
I started building the Tamiya Hummel a couple of weeks ago, instead of taking dslr photos of already completed projects. At least I remembered uncle NightShift's armour texture trick this time 😄 Now all I have left are are the 3d printed tracks and the crew with accessories. Then I can start painting, yay!
This'll be slow as time's limited during this season. Priming's a January thing earliest, I think. That'll be fun 🤘🏻

That was quick, I am still slowly building the StuG III when the #Hummel, a #Tamiya kit this time, became fetchable. It was there on Tuesday already, but I could swing by Tieto-Nikkari no earlier than today.
Another nice detour on the way home, on probably the last nice summery day this year. No complaints, I also had another good chat with one of the shop owners.

The charger finally arrived. Took the #ta02 out for a spin now that I can charge the new batteries. Even with the nearly 20yr old mechanical speed controller and motor it still is fun to bash around outside. I definitely need to get new tires on it and fix the steering. Wants to pull to the right.
One day I might pick up a #radiomaster #mt12 for this. Until then I'll use the pocket while I get more drone sim time in.

The fun adventure of trying to figure out where to buy 1/10th tires for my old #tamiya #ta02 #rccar is turning into a fun challenge. I don't need foam or drifting tires, just something to burn through on the asphalt outside.
Found some sites local to 🇨🇦, but nothing online local to the west coast. Probably need to hit up some local hobby shops this weekend.

I just lubed my bedroom door hinges for the first time in over 10+ years of living here, and wow... I'm so torn by how I feel about it.
One one hand, idk how I imagine it'd work but it worked so FLAWLESSLY. It's the first time I'd lubed something besides #Tamiya hahaha so, yea, kinda nuts how opening/closing my door now is dead silent.
But otoh, this might be stupid, but it's wired in my brain to know and expect that distinct tune... and now it's gone. I even have it memorised, the unique sound of each and every door in this house - and now mine's gone :') -
Maybe it's just me, but I've gotten more annoyed at the folks hating on old #scifi #scalemodels
I get it, it's not a modern #Bandai or #Tamiya ... you can't just shake the box and have a finished kit inside.
Maybe you have to break out the putty, work some elbow grease and scratch build a little.

Gap filling and first round of priming done.
I used a little sprue-goo, some acrylic putty ( #Liquitex Modeling Paste ) and a touch of #Tamiya and #Bondo glazing putty.
I had a blister develop in one of the arms from some trapped cement. So, I dug it out and filled with #ApoxieSculpt
After scraping and sanding, I primed with #Tamiya Gray and #Duplicolor Black Sand-able primer.
A stray sink mark ... 🙄 ... and a couple other spots to deal with, but no biggie.
Now to let it bake and dry.

Starting another simple #scaleModel build.
The 1/1000 USS Grissom as seen in #StarTrek III from #Round2 / #PolarLights models.
The kit actually has two models, the Grissom and a Klingon Bird of Prey. But, I built and painted the BoP back in 2020 as a guinea pig for a larger 1/350 version of that model.
So, TECHNICALLY this is an un-started model, but half-built kit.
Anyway, the assemblies took no time to cement together with #Tamiya Extra Thin.
I'll later do a tiny bit of putty work.

This was my first serious #scalemodel build from over a decade ago. 1/1000 Second Pilot Enterprise from #StarTrek the Original Series. A nice little kit from #Round2 / #PolarLights
Painted with #Tamiya acrylics and #ModelMaster enamels via airbrush.
I sold it to a friend of mine years ago, so I need to build more. I have a few more kits to do it. I'm thinking all four versions LOL.
