CW: Farscape S2E17 "The Ugly Truth"
On Mondays at 1PM EDT (UTC-4), I usually live toot an episode of a TV show. This week's show is Farscape. A scientist from Earth became stranded far away from Earth while running an experiment in space. He and his newfound friends must dodge forces that want to send them to prison, kill them, or do other terrible things to them.
The aliens in Farscape aren't the simplistic head appliances of Star Trek and they're not on a five year mission to seek out new life. They're trying to survive in a hostile universe. Jim Henson's company made the puppets.
Of this episode, TMDB says:Crais and Talyn return. The crew are put on trial for an attack that Talyn made on an alien ship.

We've finished Stargate and we're now rewatching Farscape.
And the question is: Who is the sexiest crew in a sci-fi show and why is it a close run thing between Farscape and Firefly?
(Farscape probably wins on the basis of not all just being human and not having Jayne!)

I've started rewatching Farscape, starting with the cliffhanger at the end of season 1. TBH season 2 doesn't hold up as well as I remember from when I watched it just over a decade ago.
Home on the Remains (s02e07), for example, was a great concept. But the set in the mining scene was so unconvincing it took me out of the story, and the faux Cajun accent of the guy playing B’Sogg was painful to listen to.

Another thing I'm appreciating about #Farscape is how often the episodes are not resolved by violence.
There is usually violence in every episode, but it doesn't end up being the resolution. A lot of times it is talking to a solution. Or deducing a solution. -

Rewatching Farscape (skipping some episodes) and really into it. At the time I thought it was uneven... and it still is... but the overall weirdness and commitment of the whole thing has aged really well.
Having watched #Blakes7 now I can also see the obvious inspiration!

I'm more than halfway done with season 1 of #Farscape and I'm increasingly impressed with the Rygel puppet. What a phenomenal piece of practical effects.
The pilot is also very cool, but we are a lot less of them and usually though a screen, so it looks less impressive than Rygel freely interacting with the rest of the cast. -

Lately, John and Aeryn's "will they / won't they" has become a bit more like a "probably will / maybe did." Ka D'Argo and Chiana are firmly in the honeymoon of their relationship. Zhaan has been working on reclaiming her priesthood. Moya's son, Talyn, is still having off screen adventures with the formerly villainous and still pretty amoral Crais. And Scorpius still wants the wormhole knowledge in John's brain.

@jmw @adeese I feel like #TheMagicians did a good job right out of the gate. Also new #BSG which isn't technically a "new property" but also it really is a new property because it's so dissimilar from its source material and intended for audiences who have no knowledge of it.
I think #B5 hits it just fine starting with the first proper episode (as opposed to the pilot movie which is canon but also needs audience participation to rectify with the rest of the series). The characters all feel well-developed to me from the start, but I may just have too much knowledge of the series to be objective about its beginnings. I do think that #Farscape starts with less strength.
I went to check my NAS for other shows and discovered that it turned itself off and won't come up so....I think I'm going into hardware troubleshooting mode now.
