I’m halfway through #Shadowbringers with my #ffxiv alt, it continues to be my favorite of the expansions. The story in all of them, from ARR onwards is fantastic so it’s hard to pick a favorite sometimes, but I love the story in this one and getting to go from here to #Endwalker is always a treat. At the rate I’m going. I should complete the Dawntrail content again just in time for the new expansion to drop.

"I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them."
#Endwalker early access started 3 years ago today. I took a week off work and went all-in, logging in at 6am to avoid the queues and not logging out until ~midnight. It was a crazy wild time, a frenetic almost festival atmosphere, as people finished up the MSQ, looked around at each other through the tears and realized that (minor quibbles aside) SE actually stuck the fucking landing and avoided shitting the bed like so many other big media properties had done over the last few years.
Outside of that, I was finally getting used to the idea of who I was. Things at work were "good" in that while I was tired of my job I didn't actively hate it or my boss, and I had hopes for a shift to a role less focused on IT support.
I'm pretty sure I knew how good things were in that brief stretch of time. It's definitely clear how good things were, considering the shitshows looming on the horizon (IRL and in game).

Despite Endwalker being the first expansion I actually finished the main story for in good time, the arrival of the Island Sanctuary initially distracted me from the patch story and then I got busy with school.
It's really, really good, though: starting with a treasure hunt and leading to a rescue mission for Vrtra's brood-sister (Azdaja), which of course leads to a bigger conflict with the Voidsent of the World of Darkness/Thirteenth.

A lot of times with fiction, I find myself reflexively recoiling away and shutting down when I feel that the story is trying too hard to make me feel any given emotion. Recent-ish examples in #endwalker are Matsya's Run ("The game is rated 'T', I'm pretty sure they won't have [spoiler] happen"), any time "Flow" started to play (I refused to listen to the lyrics), and most recently how they really seem to be pushing Wuk Lamat as Best Girl (I already have G'raha following me around like a lovesick puppy, I don't need another).
As a result my WoL is half vague self-insert, half fourth-wall breaking, genre savvy, piss-taking Deadpool clone.

so i maybe kinda did this in one sitting.
i've been thinking about an animatic to this song ever since a friend said it was perfect hyth and venat fodder. exept my brain took a right turn at "colder than the darkest sea" and we ended up here instead.
the transitions and camera pans aren't as precise as i'd like due to the software, but they get the message across.
i don't know if i'll polish it beyond this but! i did the thing!!

Here they are! My completed Meteion 3D print! I used i.magina3D's Swallow as a base with a custom multicolor paint job that I did!
I decided to go with the silver because I thought having that shimmer across the whole bird would be super cool, but I could give them a white belly too haha!

It suddenly occurs to me that I'm going to want to keep an eye on my vacation time to make sure I can take a week off for #Dawntrail. I did that for #Endwalker and it was one of the best decisions I could have made. #FFXIV
