All the more ironic #Trump is losing ground with the #SecondAmendment crowd after his administration targeted #Pretti for legally carrying a weapon many of them also own.

Sadly, living in the US I sometimes legally carry very similar concealed gear - down to the number spare magazines - not out of fear of minorities or to intimidate anyone, but because I’m prepared for threats from someone who looks just like me, and I have a family to protect.

So I am a gun owner. I am not a NRA member because I think we can preserve our 2A rights while keeping people safe (Think the Swiss model) and it is amazing that the hard core, typically ultra conservative , you can take my gun from my cold dead hand types are not more up in arms.

Walk back or not they are testing this to see how it goes and the gun nutters should be very very worried. #gun #gunownership #guncontrol #2A #secondamendment

For the record, "#Democrat #politicians defend #SecondAmendment #GunRights from #Republican politicians" has been on my #political bingo-card since the #Obama admin, when I worked with #Gun-toting Democrat candidates and watched Obama expand gun rights as #Republicans pushed to disarm various groups.

This is not new, it's just way more obvious, which is an opportunity for inroads I have been pushing for my entire adult life.
