CW: Suicide Right-to-die
Bodily autonomy means right to die. If you don't like that then you need to look up the definition of autonomy.
If you want to take away someone's personal choices then you are engaging in an authoritarian mindset.
You are not an authority on anyone's life choices but your own, and that includes the choice to stop living for whatever reason.
Like all big life choices guidance and advice can be appropriate depending on the type of relationship you have with someone but the final choice is always theirs.
And the paternal attitude that suicide is fundamentally and can only ever be a mental health issue to be solved is one of those non-negotiable tenets of the system. Dead workers don't make taxable income so suicide is illegal in many jurisdictions.
"it gets better" is survivorship bias and the notion that everyone must endure suffering no matter the personal cost is paternal and self-centered. Even if it got better for you; that is the definition of survivorship bias.
Only once you relieve yourself of the burden of avoiding suicidal thoughts like they're a virus that will infect you can you actually rationally think about why you want to live and allow room for other people to come to another conclusion without projecting your insecurities onto them.
A world that holds you hostage is not one many people want to live in but a world with complete and utter freedom, even to die makes it all the more worth staying.
