While most people are creating Gmail accounts for their newborns, I decided to start him off with actual privacy from day one.
A bit dramatic? Maybe. But in 15–20 years when he asks "Dad, why doesn’t my email spy on me?" — I'll just smile and say "You’re welcome".
Sometimes the best gifts are the ones they’ll only appreciate much later.

#AgeVerification laws harm #naturism since it censors it and makes it practically inaccessible for everyone. Anyone who may want to discover and research about naturism online would have to doxx themselves giving away their ID to age-verify themselves, thus associating their online activity back to their personal life.

I use Chrome for work and found that it has decided, without opt-in or opt-out, to create several `weights.bin` files that are several GB large. Deleting them means Chrome will reinstall them. Why this is bad is explained in https://www.thatprivacyguy.com/blog/chrome-silent-nano-install/ , but that blog misses that there is more than 1 weights.bin file.

Or they just don't listen.
Training people to open whatever QR code a website shows them on their phone is a massively bad idea. I'm honestly not going to be surprised to see an official reCAPTCHA version of the "paste this into the Run dialog box and press enter to prove you're human" scam.
From a #digitalprivacy standpoint, this allows Google to associate your browser fingerprint with your mobile device fingerprint, if they haven't already. "Don't be evil" my muscular buttocks.
