Yestarday, I rode my #bike from South #Minneapolis to visit my aunt in Mendota Heights,which is about 10ish miles away. It was really nice. I went by my grandmother's old house just on the other side of the high bridge (Smith Ave).crossing the Mississippi River.

I've spotted it about five times over the past month, generally around 9/9:30pm.
Raccoon spotters would be advised to check the western 1/3 of the Greenway, if that is their desire.

Here in #Minneapolis, I simply won't vote for a candidate who doesn't support walking, biking, and public transportation. It's in the candidate's best interest to communicate their vision to voters - and hosting a bike ride is a great way to do it. Likewise, it's often in the cycling community's interest to attend to demonstrate that there is a coalition supporting these initiatives.
We have a local publication which does video-interviews with candidates during a bike ride. The candidate generally picks the route, and can talk about their vision for the city, about infrastructure improvements, etc. Some candidates have taken the opportunity to show off their preferred form of micromobility, including walking tours, roller blades, and a park board candidate who was interviewed on a sail boat. One city council candidate who doesn't ride bikes was interviewed while riding in the basket of a cargo bike. Yet another candidate hosted a DJ ride to raise awareness of their campaign.
Organized rides are also a powerful tool for advocacy groups.
Our Streets organized a ride to attend a MnDOT feedback session. MnDOT was not prepared for that number of people to attend...
Advocacy groups could also organize a bike audit and invite politicians, city planners/staff, the media, etc. to draw attention to unsafe streets.

The people are certainly with him! A crowd attended in support, and I don't see a Minneapolis jury wanting to convict him.

But the motive behind Operation Metro Surge may have been something else entirely. “I think Donald Trump just hates that he lost Minnesota three times,” Tim Walz told me. “He personally hates our progressive policies, and they decided that Minnesota was going to be a target, and it escalated from there.” Still, as David Wilson, a local immigration attorney, observed, “I just don’t think all of us really at the time saw the scale of it coming, or how committed they were to the bit.”
Luis Argueta, Jr., the communications director of Unidos MN, a Minnesota immigrant-rights organization, said the initial rumor was that the Trump Administration would be sending a hundred agents. “And we’re freaking out,” he told me. “We’re, like, ‘Oh, my God, one hundred agents!’ ”
The first agents to arrive from out of town seemed poorly trained to handle local opposition. Minnesotans who recorded videos of ICE arrests were threatened with Tasers, pepper-sprayed, shoved to the ground, or arrested."

Love's lawyer spoke after today's hearing and described what happened while flanked by Black nerds in super hero costumes.
The team plans to purse a self defense claim due in part to the fact that Love is accused of assaulting Jake Lang -after- Lang's convey of vehicles dangerously drove on sidewalks and towards pedestrians.
Self defense during a vehicular assault is legal according to the lawyer.
