Minneapolis may require driverless vehicles to have someone in the driver’s seat
    By Deena Winter
    The Minnesota Star Tribune

'Council members say the rules, which also require all autonomous vehicle companies to be licensed with the city, would be groundbreaking nationally. The “safety monitor” would need to have a driver’s license and “immediate access to controls for steering, braking, and acceleration.”

'Last year, Waymo officials announced plans to move into the Minneapolis market and in November began testing the company’s signature white Jaguar I-Pace SUVs and Zeekr RT vehicles on the streets. The arrival of the driverless ride-hailing company’s white vehicles alarmed the ride-share community and a number of council members have been vocal about wanting to stop Waymo from bringing its fleet of autonomous electric vehicles to the city.'

  3. Buildings between buildings

I took my Canon t6i with a 18-135 lens out after a long time of it just sitting on the shelf. It's a great camera after all these years. I like having this zoom when taking pictures of the city as it allows me to really get into the details like this.

  5. In #Minneapolis I drove to Terminal 2 today to fly Southwest. That route goes past the Fort Snelling National Cemetery (for veterans). So much tragedy has happened this last year and over the years at Fort Snelling—most recently by #ICE.

  6. #Minneapolis Spider Man William Love had his appearance in court today, entering a plea of not guilty due to acting in self defense and defense of others.

The people are certainly with him! A crowd attended in support, and I don't see a Minneapolis jury wanting to convict him.

  7. Blackburn 40x80” (seen at bottom) has found a new home in the Twin Cities! This diptych rotated at the General Mills art collection for many years. What do you see? 🤔 Shawnmcnulty.com #art #fineart #abstract #blueskyart #midcenturymodern #artist #minneapolis #mplsart #abstractpainting

  8. Just days after punching Nazi criminal Jake Lang, Minnesota's Spider-Man protestor is receiving considerable support through GoFundMe for his medical and legal bills.

  9. Lake Street Dive, Obviously, 2021 on Nonesuch

This was the seventh album from Boston's own Lake Street Dive (formed at the New England Conservatory) and the third on Nonesuch. It was originally due to come out earlier but got delayed by Covid and such. Rachael Price is such a powerhouse vocalist it can almost be overwhelming at times, but I like their songwriting and musical choices. (I may also feel a connection because the dive in Lake Street Dive is in Minneapolis not far from where I hung out - though it does trip me up into […]
