The lawsuit & 2022 verdict against #AlexJones marked the first time Jones was held financially liable for peddling #lies about the #massacre, claiming it was faked by the government to tighten #GunLaws.

The unanimous opinion of by the Texas Third Court of Appeals found that #SandyHook parents Neil Heslin & Scarlett Lewis did not show evidence that #harassment enflamed by #AlexJones’ hoax claims rose to a level that would allow them to exceed the state’s $750,000 cap on damages.

A #Texas court has slashed the $50 million judgment to $1.5 million against Infowars founder #AlexJones over falsely calling 2012 #SandyHook #SchoolShooting a hoax.
The ruling does not affect a $1.4 billion judgement against Jones in Connecticut, but is a significant legal victory for Jones after he & his company, Free Speech Systems, were found liable for damages for claiming the #MassShooting didn’t happen.

APAN also responded to some of the unfounded and divisive accusations from #JillianSegal, who again used the platform she was given by the government as Special Envoy to Combat Antisemitism to spread #misinformation and push a dangerously undemocratic agenda, all within hours of the massacre.
