  1. @ponderingpolitics.bsky.social reacts to #JoeRogan FINALLY calling out and sounding the alarm about Donald Trump's UNPRECEDENTED CORRUPTION and ADMITTING that the next #Democratic president would be right to start arresting people.

    Joe Rogan FINALLY ADMITS Trump...

  2. #FrancescaHong: “Our Movement Is Strong, and the Work Isn’t Done”
More than 300,000 Wisconsin voters backed a democratic socialist’s gubernatorial bid. That’s the measure of the strength of a new kind of politics.

    thenation.com/article/politics

[a welcome antidote to the disorienting horseshit from the NYT.]

...Hong practiced an old-school version of #Wisconsin #Democratic politics—recognizing the importance of building a coalition rooted in the progressive heartlands of Madison, the diverse precincts of Milwaukee, and the rural regions that #Democrats have so frequently neglected. [...]Hong did something that is so rare in politics that it confused many of the national reporters who began following her as her campaign as it surged in the polls: She engaged in real conversations with Wisconsinites, joking with them, showing off her Milwaukee Bucks tattoo, and paying close attention when they talked about things like their concerns about #AI #DataCenters

  4. Controversial: we should stop running for office in host countries.

Uncontroversial: Jewish president is a fantasy.

"#MichaelMorris is the publisher of the #Atlanta #JewishTimes, and the scathing letter he just wrote #Georgia #Sen. #JonOssoff signals yet another important shift among prominent #Jewish communal figures since #October7.

First, the background to this incident. In the 2024 campaign, the question was whether #Pennsylvania #Gov. #JoshShapiro’s #Jewishness would hold him back from being embraced as a national figure in the #Democratic Party. The answer was yes: A progressive campaign to cast him as a #dualloyalist was so successful that when he was being vetted as a possible vice-presidential nominee for #KamalaHarris, her team asked him whether he worked on #Israel’s behalf.

Many of us, myself included, wondered if #Shapiro would run for president in 2028 and thus test the party’s voters on this question. But it looks as if #Ossoff may be the one..."

  8. In #Connecticut's 5th Congressional District, #Democratic incumbent @repjahanahayes is running unopposed and will face the winner of the #GOP primary between Chris Shea and Johnathan De Barros

Given the district and the popularity of Hayes, the District is considered "Likely Democratic" in November

  9. In #Connecticut #District4 race #Democratic incumbent @RepJimHimes is unopposed, and will face the winner of today's #GOP primary between Michael Goldstein and Daniel Miressi.

If he wins tonight's primary, this will be Goldstein's third attempt to unseat Himes. I guess he's hoping the 3rd times a charm.

  10. Another safe #Democratic seat is #Connecticut's #District3 where incumbent Congresswoman @rosadelauro is unopposed in the primary and will face #GOP candidate Christopher Lancia in November.

Representing Connecticut’s 3rd Congressional District since 1991, she’s known for her fierce advocacy for working families, progressive values, and a deep commitment to equity and public health.

  11. #Connecticut #District2 contest for November is already decided: Incumbent #Democratic Congressman Joe Courtney will face #GOP challenger George Patrick Austin.

  12. In the safely #Democratic #Connecticut #District1 race for the House, longtime Congressman John Larson is facing primary challenges from former Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin (endorsed by #VoteVets, state Rep. Jillian Gilchrest and Hartford Board of Education member Ruth Fortune.

John Larson is 78, and if he wins the primary, (which polling seems to indicate is likely), he will face #GOP candidate Amy Chai in November.

  13. The #Democratic primary for the #Connecticut Governor's race won't finish for hours yet, but the outcome is not in question. The Democratic incumbent Governor Ned Lamont is currently pollint 20-30 points ahead of his democratic challenger.

The #GOP candidate Ryan Fazio is unopposed. They will face each other in November.

  14. Statewide primaries for U.S. Senate and #Minnesota governor today will set up races in this fall’s general #election. In #Democratic strongholds of the Twin Cities and ruby red parts of greater Minnesota, Tuesday’s primary election is the ballgame.

Democratic state Sen. Omar Fateh faces two opponents on Tuesday: Jeanelle Austin and Brenda Short.

State Sen. Paul Utke of Park Rapids is facing a challenge from ultra-conservative #GOP Rep. Mike Wiener. #uspol #uspolitics #elections

  15. ⬆️ >> #Texas #Democratic Senate nominee #JamesTalarico sums up what ails America— the capture of BOTH parties by #billionaires and the complicity of BOTH political parties in pursuit of #bipartisanGrift at the expense of 99% of Americans.

Abdul #ElSayed warns: Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

#MikeRogers will cut health care one more time if you give him a chance.

Cranky #EstablisfmentDemocrats bristle upon hearing their corporate donors fingered for rigging the economy.

  16. #Texas #Democratic Senate nominee #JamesTalarico hits the nail on the head.

#Talarico pretty much sums up what ails America — the capture of BOTH parties by #billionaires and the complicity of BOTH political parties in pursuit of #bipartisanGrift at the expense of 99% of Americans. #CitizensUnited

NOTHING that is currently happening in the #UnitedStates would be possible without the #complicity and #connivance of the #DemocraticParty and #EstablishmentDemocrats.

  17. Up in the middle of the night, waiting for Benadryl to kick in so my nose will behave and I can get some sleep, I saw a sentence in an article I was reading in Harper’s Magazine that got to me. “I will always vote for someone who will uphold the Constitution over someone who will gnaw on it.” The #Democratic Party is severely flawed, but it hasn’t started chewing on parchment just yet. So it still has my vote. #USPol

  18. The gap between #EstablishmentDemocrats and #DemocraticSocialists is widening at an unprecedented rate.

Infuriated #Democratic voters have thrown out 6 House #Democratic incumbents (the highest number in 5 decades).

Majority 51% of ALL #Democrats, not just #DSA #DemocraticSocialists say their party has been captured by #billionaires interests. #CitizensUnited

This is not just a #Progressive thing. No, it is the entire Party that is frustrated with their leadership.

  19. UPDATE: #Democratic Congressman Ed Case from #Hawaii easily defeated primary challengers who were angry about his support for Trump's "SAVE Act" in yesterday's #uspol #elections #uspolitics

  20. @WarnerCrocker

"Life is disappointment. Living is how you deal with it."

Yep. And they certainly are dealing with it! The young folks building up the #DSA and then using/challenging the conservative establishment of the #Democratic Party is a beautiful thing. In southern rural MO we have a young left-progressive (edited: originally posted that he was a a Democratic Socialist, he's not) running against an incumbent right-wing #MAGA Republican for this House district. This past Monday he beat out the older corporate friendly #Democrat in the Missouri primary.

Watching the "Vote Blue no matter who" establishment Dems lose their shit as their conservative, bought and paid for candidates get their asses kicked in recent months has been a real treat. I'm going to have to buy more popcorn.

I think I recall a time in the not to distant past when older Dems bemoaned the non-participation of the young folks. My how times have changed!

  21. Just so we're perfectly clear here, Vasiliev is suggesting an FBI Director, #KashPatel, is traveling to #Russia in order to solicit political dirt on #Democratic politicians in an effort to influence one or MORE American #midtermelections

That is quite a suggestion. But collusion worked in 2016...

  22. I used this site which aggregates candidate endorsements to help voters determine which candidates best represent their ideals, and most closely align with their political beliefs.

I've chosen the most #progressive candidates I found, based on endorsements, for the #Florida #Democratic #primary, and will drop off my ballot this week.

I'm disgusted that there are (supposedly) former Republicans in this primary.

They can *never* be trusted. Period.

  24. ⬆️ @Mabande

    >> between Reagan and #Trump there were multiple #Democratic prez who each served multiple terms. Problem is not with the electorate but with #billionaires … who control #Republicans, #Democrats, and #SCOTUS.

It does NOT matter who set the scene and who got elected.

What matters is that billionaires control ALL the levers of society and government, and THEY, the billionaires alone (not the electorate) get to set the direction.
