The Turkmenistani government has for far too long gone under the radar for their massive human rights abuses. They need to be held accountable.

An interview by Drop Site News revealed that the blindfolded Palestinian seen in a viral photo, in which two female Israeli soldiers posed beside him, has been identified as 22-year-old Mahmoud Al-Drimli.
According to his family, Mahmoud disappeared on Nov. 2, 2024, while trying to return from southern Gaza to Gaza City. They said they had received no information about his whereabouts until they recognized him in the widely circulated image.

September 22, 2025: "#MindFreedomInternational (#MFI) is pleased to report that, in response to our previous Shield Alert update, Lemuel Shattuck Hospital has allowed And Steiner to see a covering provider of their choice and assured that And’s requests are being taken seriously. However, MFI remains concerned about And’s safety and well-being despite these concessions.
"As a reminder, And is a #Massachusetts (MA) Department of Mental Health (DMH) patient at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital and whistleblower alleging criminal misconduct and abuse within the Massachusetts #DMH system, and has faced a pattern of retaliation including illegal #ForcedTransfer, assault, and harassment and denial of #DueProcess. A staff member has also warned that DMH plans to continue this targeting and harassment."

[Petition] Black & #Transgender Lives Lost to Medical Neglect: Demand Justice in MA Hospitals!
The Issue
"My name is And Steiner. I am a Queer, gender-diverse patient that has been hospitalized in Massachusetts' (MA) Department of Mental Health (#DMH) hospitals for four years because of severe suicidality with suicide attempts.
"During that time, I have endured three attempts by DMH to suddenly discharge me from treatment without appropriate support, a practice known as '#PatientDumping'. This usually occurs when insurance has denied coverage or a patient has become a legal liability and often proves deadly, as you will see in this petition.
"While under DMH’s care, I have learned of at least two cases of serious medical neglect, and one suspected, which resulted in patient deaths. #HaywoodEarl was a Black man who died 'a painful and untimely death' from medical neglect at #LemuelShattuck Hospital, according to an investigation by #DisabilityLawCenter. Disability Law Center also investigated the death of #CaSonyaKing (pictured), a Black woman who they concluded 'died needlessly' from being 'patient dumped" from a #PsychiatricHospital. It is suspected that #JeanBusch, a transgender patient at Lemuel Shattuck, died similarly. All minorities. All died needlessly.
"When I learned of their deaths I was affected deeply. I reported Jean's death to DMH Authority, Attorney General Campbell and Governor Maura Healey in Jan 2023.
"Despite being under no criminal investigation, as punishment for reporting Jean's death, I was illegally and forcibly transferred to a dangerous forensic ward with no due process. There I experience 15 months of relentless physical #assaults, as well as verbal and sexual #harassment, often directly related to my sexual orientation and #GenderIdentity."

Death of a patient with mental illness at Shattuck Hospital raises allegations of ‘neglect’

"A 60-year-old Black man committed to #LemuelShattuck Hospital’s #psychiatric ward died a 'painful, untimely death' due in part to the state’s failure to provide adequate health care, according to a report released Monday.
"#HaywoodEarl, residing at the public hospital in Jamaica Plain, likely would have survived his bout with skin cancer if he’d received a timely diagnosis and appropriate medical treatment, the nonprofit Disability Law Center concluded in a 28-page report."

Trump’s return to office has proven fortuitous for GEO Group: The president’s '#BigBeautifulBill' earmarked $45 billion for jailing immigrants. 'This is a unique moment in our company’s history,' GEO Group CEO J. David Donahue told investors in May, 'and we believe we are well-positioned to meet this unprecedented opportunity.'
"GEO Group has faced decades of criticism over alleged mismanagement of its facilities and claims of rampant abuse of inmates. In August, The Intercept reported the suicide of a Chinese immigrant held at a GEO Group-operated prison in Pennsylvania. The American Civil Liberties Union filed a federal complaint over the facility in July, criticizing 'horrific conditions' at the prison, including repeated instances of medical neglect.
"In 2023, GEO Group was hit by a class-action lawsuit alleging the 'months-long poisoning' from a chemical disinfectant of more than 1,300 inmates at a California immigration detention center. The Global Sumud Flotilla said 29 more participants were released today, Sunday, and flown to Spain, according to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The released activists include citizens of Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands. So far, Greta Thunberg has not been released.
Flotilla members arriving in Turkey yesterday said they drank water from the toilet, women were imprisoned in dog cages, and they were woke up at night by snipers and German Shepherds, with
Israelis screaming, "We're going to shoot you." Their medicines were thrown away, Flotilla participants said in Istanbul upon arrival.Greta Thunberg was treated the worst, and dragged by hair and abused. She remains in the violent Ktzi'ot prison in the Negev desert in Israel. Nelson Mandela's grandson is also imprisoned.
The first group of 137 from the Global Sumud Flotilla arrived in Turkey yesterday, and were greeted with bouquets of flowers in Instabul, most were Turkish and Malaysian. A 70-year-old Scottish woman, arriving in Turkey with a broken leg, said she was given no food or water in prison, and the guard slammed a metal door on her broken leg."That prison was awful," said Margaret Pacetta from Glasgow upon arrival at the airport in Turkey.
Another woman arriving in Turkey said mothers had written the names of their children in blood on the prison walls.

MONMOUTH — "After dozens of residents voiced opposition, the police department has withdrawn its application for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement program that allows local law enforcement agencies to work with the federal agency to enforce federal immigration laws.
"Police Chief Paul Ferland said he was seeking the training so his officers would know what to do if they come across people who are in the United States illegally.
"In the past year or so, Monmouth officers have called the U.S. Border Patrol about a dozen times, each time with questions about legal rights, when to detain someone and how to not violate someone’s constitutional rights.
"Each instance can take hours, Ferland said, as officers wait for federal agents to arrive from wherever they are stationed. Once the agents arrive, they check for the person’s immigration status and whether they may have an upcoming court date. If not, the officers can issue a date.
"The southwest Kennebec County town is home to a number of businesses, including #agricultural businesses that employ #migrant workers.
"Ferland announced the department’s withdrawal from the program Wednesday at the town’s Board of Selectmen meeting, which was packed with residents both in person and on Zoom who turned out mostly to speak against the move.
"Because Ferland is also the chief of the Winthrop Police Department, that town is also withdrawing, he said.
" 'When I saw how this is dividing the community, it’s not what I want. It’s not what our officers want. Our community is our community, it’s our home. The officers love their community, and we are not here to divide it. That is one of the reasons why I pulled the application. Not the only, but the biggest,' Ferland said."Following an executive order signed by President Donald #Trump, police departments from 38 states have applied to be a part of ICE’s 287 (g) program, including the #WellsPoliceDepartment, which according to Immigrations and Customs Enforcement data is the only #Maine police agency that is currently taking part."
