If you are not progressive left — which is the only way we save this country — I don’t want to hear from you anymore.
I will vote progressively or not at all. It is not up for debate or discussion.
I will not support pedophile Nazis or their sympathizers or collaborators. Unity is not more important than accountability and change.
Unity without accountability is just a hostage situation. We’ve spent decades watching conservatives move the goalposts and moderates tell us to be grateful for the new, worse 'normal.' Stop calling it a compromise when the only thing being sacrificed is progress. I’m voting for systemic change, not for a seat on a bus that only travels right.
I’m done accepting 'unity' as a substitute for change. The current cycle is predictable and toxic: conservatives break the system, and moderates ask us to 'compromise' by accepting the damage as the new baseline. True compromise requires a move toward progress, not just a slower crawl toward the right. I refuse to fall in line with a system that demands my silence while it protects the very people who should be held accountable.
If my unwillingness to continue to capitulate to that nonsense any longer makes you feel afraid, then be afraid, and do something about it.

Which is why we need progressives, and I mean real progressives.
What is not a real progressive is the person who claims to be one during an election cycle, yet lacks a history of progressive values, morals, and applied ethics going back years. We do not need those people who claim to have "seen the light" just because they now want your vote.
We want someone who acts as a progressive would, applies principles, and does things as a progressive should, rather than offering just empty, meaningless talk. We want someone with an established record going back years, even if it is just a personal history rooted in their day-to-day life. We want someone who knows the cost of milk, truly understands the cost of living and the way of life of their fellow Americans, and was never "above it all."
Look at New York's mayor, Zohran Mamdani, or New York's congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, as leading examples of what a real progressive is.
You're right. Moderate centrists are complicit — they always have been.
It is why many people feel they're no different from Republicans. A moderate centrist will tell you that unity is more important than change or accountability. It's why our country keeps inching toward a conservative view. The moderate centrist never truly rolls back the harm done; instead, they hold things in place until you get used to the awful new normal.
If we're serious about change, accountability, and undoing the damage done, we need real progressive leadership. The excuse of unity at the expense of accountability and change has kept us in a hostage situation, and it is time to break free!

A note to #CAdem #Democrats #DSCC #DCCC - Perhaps you could get the word out to #DemocraticCandidates that overwhelming numbers of SMS and e-mail asks with URGENT NEED FOR MONEY RIGHT NOW end up turning off potential donors.
I know the consultants must be recommending this - the language commonalities are overwhelming.
You - Leaders of the Democratic Party - need to think about some guidance to candidates on how to manage fundraising so as not to annoy small donors.
You know, maybe, actually find ways to engage with voters in a more constructive manner?
I see groups like Swing Left, States Win, Force Multiplier, and the work people like @charlesgaba do encourage donations without oppressively large amounts of SMS messages and redundant e-mails.
And I've seen candidates actually get out and talk to people,
I'm sure you can do better. Will you, though?

Please read this. And perhaps the #Democrats / #DNC / #DCCC #ChuckSchumer / #HakeemJeffries / #JamesCarville et al in particular need to consider what Prof. Mazzucato has to say

"..the Democratic brand “is in trouble”, noting that ballot measures based on Democratic policies often win in places where candidates do not."
So why to I get push-back when I post that the Democratic messaging is bad, and that they are not effectively engaging with the electorate on the issues they care about?

CW: Political Rant /DCCC
I'm sort of bewildered that the #DCCC keeps sending me asks for money - texts and e-mails. I gave - a long time ago - and realized I was buying a defective political product. They are adamant in hteir support for the status quo, and have no message other than "The GOP (or MAGA, or #47) is bad"
It's that attitude that has lost the Democrats so many seats - at all levels.
People tell me "Look at the Platform. The D's have a great platform. Their message is good!" (And they say that in all sincerity despite the evidence of the 2024 elections.
If the platform and messaging is so inspiring, why do we have the POTUS running the #GOP Congress and bigoted billionaires running #SCOTUS?

#MaineDems to Vote on Condemning #DCCC Interference in House Primary
National #Democrats put their weight behind a candidate in Maine’s hotly contested House race just weeks before the primary. Locals are pissed.
by Noah Hurowitz, May 7 2026
" 'The fact that the national #DemocraticParty would come in and try to decide this primary literally weeks before we vote is just another example of how broken our Democratic leadership is,' [Jordan Wood] said."

If you’re not truly progressive — genuinely and consistently, not just during an election cycle when it helps you — don’t bother running.
-
If it is not progressive, it will be conservative.
We need to go hard left — not a passive left, not a performative left, but a truly progressive left — like following a beacon in the night sky to escape the darkness of the Donald Trump era.
We need someone who believes change and accountability are priorities, not another conservative Democrat who tells us that unity matters more and that we must once again accept a so-called “new normal” set by the previous administration, which broke everything. We need to end this cycle.
MAGA is simply awful, but they have one advantage: they are given everything they want — and more — regardless of how harmful the outcome may be. Meanwhile, Democratic leadership tells us we need to compromise our values, principles, wants, and needs for what exactly? To embrace their way of life?
You fight for voter turnout because, while your methods may differ, the end goal remains the same. People are fed up and are fighting with themselves just to show up and vote.
If it is not progressive, it will be conservative. I guarantee it.

2/ 2 .... Continued....
> Meanwhile, Donald Trump was offering exactly what the MAGA movement wanted. They’re getting what they asked for — there was no “lesser evil” in their minds.
If one side can get exactly what they want, for better or worse, and the other side is still telling their people:
"Suck it up, buttercup!"
That side is not in a strong position to expect anything from anyone. The worse slogan they could use was:
"Vote blue no matter who!"
Because who, is the issue. You may as well have told people not to vote.
I do not think the democratic leadership has yet come to terms with the world they are living in.

> “ The status quo is exactly what people are rejecting. ”
The Democratic leadership wrongfully assumed they could ignore this simple but crucial fact — but we ended up with Donald Trump, not once, but twice, each time because they ignored it.
And the worse Donald Trump becomes, the stronger the desire grows for something radically different — someone unapologetically distinct from his chaos. When that alternative fails to inspire, people lose hope.
We saw record voter turnout, yet Donald Trump still won. This shows that who turns out to vote and why has always mattered — and always will.
If it is not progressive, it will be conservative — I guarantee it.
-
It is not the same world anymore.
For starters, there is no so-called “lesser evil” when one side is getting exactly what they want.
What MAGA Republicans are doing is simply awful — there’s no denying that. But they’re getting what they want, and they’re doing it at a fast, record-breaking pace, without any compromise.
Meanwhile, the Democratic establishment is telling everyone to “suck it up, buttercup” and accept whatever nonsense they’re handed.
Who do you think will be in a stronger position come election time?
Obviously, the extreme MAGA crowd will likely (hopefully) be removed, but it’s not a sure thing — and certainly not a guaranteed sweep or an overwhelming blue wave.
The status quo is exactly what people are rejecting.
-
Donald Trump = Bad.
Yes, obviously. But there’s more...
If all you do is repeat, once again, that we need to stop the big, ugly monster at the gate — without addressing anything significant, while telling us “next time” and insisting we ignore everything else to stop the monster — you’ll end up with another monster.
If it’s not progressive, it will be conservative — I guarantee it.
-
This is not a democracy — and unfortunately, it hasn’t been for some time. Today, it barely qualifies as a republic.
Zohran Mamdani is holding his own and defying the odds, despite the Democratic establishment’s efforts to stop him. That’s the problem you’re ignoring.
Your so-called “private party” fights against the people — then wonders why it lacks their loyalty, all while chanting “Vote blue no matter who.”
But who is the entire point. You might as well be saying voting doesn’t matter.
So yes, the Democratic establishment — not the voters — is the real problem. When you’ve been a problem this long, no one wants to compromise, because the establishment’s idea of compromise is surrendering everything that matters to the majority.
-
Someone mentioned this earlier but didn’t want to continue the conversation, so I won’t tag them. Still, I think it’s important to bring this point to everyone’s attention.
> " As for "blame the voters", it is a fact that voters only gave Dems 48 Senate seats (+3 indeps) in 2020. "
No.
This person is missing the bigger picture and putting the cart before the horse. Voters didn’t refuse to give you anything — they simply had poor choices. Many voted out of habit, and that’s all.
Again, look at New York City’s mayoral race. Everyone knows the popular candidate is Zohran Mamdani, yet the Democratic establishment has done everything possible to discourage — and, if they can, block — the people’s choice from gaining ground.
The voters are not the problem.

Never blame the voters. Ever. Blaming the voters only makes people resent you — and it shows you’re not listening.
Voters choose what they want, like, respect, understand, and hope for. If they didn’t vote for your candidate, it’s because that person didn’t represent those things — and probably because party leaders, on both sides, tried to force someone the public didn’t want or need.
Take the New York City mayoral race, for example. The public is speaking loudly and clearly, yet the political establishment — once again pushing the same unpopular status quo — is working overtime to block a strong, well-liked candidate from winning.
The problem isn’t the voters.
-
If you believe Joe Biden was a widely loved, deeply respected, and highly accomplished president in the eyes of ordinary people, you’re out of touch.
People didn’t hate him — many saw him as a kind, grandfatherly figure. But he didn’t come across as particularly “presidential.” He was a relief after the chaos of Donald Trump’s first term, yet voters eventually returned to that chaos to escape what they were truly tired of: the political status quo.
I don’t think most political commentators or professionals fully grasp how strongly the general public rejects “business as usual.” Or worse, they do understand but keep ignoring it, hoping things will somehow fix themselves. That kind of thinking will not end well.
