I am again pulling a paragraph out of Lindy Edwards‘ *How to Argue with an Economist* ,2007 (2nd ed) because it will show you that since 2001, when the disconnect between our *Government(s)* and the *Punters* out there was identified by the author, **more of the same isn’t getting us out of this mess.** Keep a copy of this quote and look at it before casting your vote for #Elections2028.
*The problem confronting governments is that Australians still hold on to the punter’s worldview. We still believe that our social circumstances shape us. We still believe that some people have more power and more opportunities than others. And we know the market doesn’t operate on a level playing field. But under economic rationalism there is no government to protect the vulnerable. There is no one to curb the power of the major corporations. There is no sense of a community that will come together to manage our collective lives. The world has become a precarious and frightening place. (P. 91)*
#Labor ‘s centre-right policies are nothing more than a copy book edition of the previous #LNP govt with a few *crumbs* thrown at the electorate to keep it just where it was before Labor took office, because that is where the prevalent #NeoLiberal #EconomicRationalist way of thinking wants us to be. **So don’t expect things to change** just because nothing is working the way you think they ought to. There are only two ways to **make change happen.**
Join Your #Union, and
#Vote *Greens* at the next election.
That’s it. There are no other means to get off this round about.Disclosure : I am an ex-Labor Party member — fed up with staus quo.
