Pictured here are gigantic jets shooting up from a thunderstorm last week toward the Himalayan Mountains. The composite image captured four long jets that occurred only minutes apart. Gigantic jets, documented only in this century, are a type of lightning discharge that occurs between some thunderstorms and the Earth's ionosphere high above them. Dear Friends as we may know. #Wombledon... eh #Wimbledon, will soon be upon us. Like #Peace. This morning our local tennis #courts in #Furzedown area, were being set up. On Tooting common all the courts were in full swing. Private tennis clubs? Probably #Streatham is the nearest one I am aware of. Anyway after a German breakfast (four pork sausages and sauerkraut) went for a 'morning constitutional' aka promenade...
A #dinner #plate sized red-eared #terrapin was on the #path, making a break to a #nearby wet area. The conservation people try and restrict this refugee from #amazonian climes. Personally I believe we can be improved, by bringing in the #legendary #sewer #alligators of #NYC to eat some of our #water #quality executives. Which I feel is an apex predator courtesy. 😆
I only brought my black hat and key, so no terrapin photos.
This #afternoon the weather forecast is #Thunder #Thor and #Lightening and very sunny. Should be fun for #rainbow #seekers.
Enjoying the #snails, which I have been watching in the garden, rather than relocating. The invasive Spanish slugs will be out in force soon.

Oh my Lorde, the chaos.
We've got a storm passing through at the moment, and I was out when it hit.. so I got home to a dog that's panicky and attaching herself to my leg for comfort.
While dealing with her I was trying to get the cats inside (Lilith is still outside because she's obviously holed up somewhere warm and dry and is too clever to leave where she is.
I then had to run out in the hail because the ghosts on the front lawn had become untethered and I don't want them blowing into traffic and causing an accident.
I came back inside to try and get the ghosts past a clingy dog who is scared of them but more scared of the lightening and thunder, and a cat who is vomiting hairballs in the hallway.
We're having rolling power outages, it's still hailing, the side yard is flooding (it happens when it rains), and I've just noticed that the lid to the bin is open from when I was cleaning the guinea pigs this morning, so that's going to be filled with water.
Chaos. Absolute chaos.

I went out this afternoon headed for #Birnbeck. I got there, parked up and got my gear - a camera /lens I got last week, so still familiarising with them, a #Grolshupp GCS1810 monopod and #Cullman ball & socket. Spots of rain fell!
I took a couple of shots of the old #pier - as the sky darkened, #lightening discharged and #thunder boomed. Then the rain deluged down and I found a tiny place I could, just about, cover under.
Three photographs then, with a #FujifilmXT2 & #Fuijnon35mmf2RWR.
